In a few minutes Leslie walked into the joint, an old bar frequented by students since time immemorial. He quickly found his group, said hello, and went to the bar to get a beer.
The bar tender asked to see an id. Leslie was surprised, no one had asked for one in a long time, but without thinking he gave the woman the one he had brought.
Leslie panicked a little suddenly remembering he didn't quite fit the description on his id, wrong gender and all, but the woman didn't say anything, even if she gave him a surprised look.
Back at the table, almost everyone from the group had gathered. Marcia, the shy girl, John, mister perfect, Felix, the funny guy, Lila, the sorority girl, Pedro, the nerd, and Jennifer, a foreign student from... Canada. Stacy completed the group and was looking stunning as usual.
After some small talk, Stacy approaches Leslie with a smile that made Leslie's legs shiver.
"It's so nice you could join us, Les" she said.
Surprisingly, they started talking and hitting it off. Normally, Leslie would've thought Stacy was into him, but given his new body he couldn't tell. Also, Stacy seemed to be like that with everyone, super nice, super talkative, super... amazing, Leslie couldn't help but feel attracted to her.
"Hey, Les, did you know John was also in the air force? Hey John, come here!" eventually said Stacy.
Leslie briefly thought about how Stacy had know he had been in the air force, but considering she had been able to correct her student file, it stood to reason she knew more about his life.
"Nice! Leslie, I didn't know!" said John as he joined the conversation.
Despite his initial feelings, Leslie's impression of John shifted after some conversation. It turns out they had been stationed very close to each other, had shared some of the commanding officers, and ended having a lot of fun. For a second, Leslie forgot all about his new problems, his new body, his new gender, and just enjoyed a fun conversation with a real air force buddy.
Time flew and before he knew it, Leslie had talked the whole time with John when the night ended.
As they started to say goodbye someone asked Leslie how he was going home.
"Walking! I live just a few blocks away, on Powell st. It's an old building with..."
Before he could finish, someone interrupted him "a weird gargoyle at the entrance? No way, I live there too! We can walk together!"
