Getting on the starting blocks, they were in the ready position. They counted themselves off before launching into the pool. Olympic pools are only 50 meters long. A 400 meter race meant 4 laps back and forth. Anna just had to sit there and watch. Anna had not changed her opinion a single bit. Regardless of who won, she was going to congratulate Lester and leave with him. Lester was the first alpha to ask her out like a genuine human being. Sexist heckling was not the way to go. Anna could snap any of these boys in half like a twig. Alpha males were especially in danger. She was a deadly serial killer. Lester was swimming breaststroke. It had to be his specialty. The most iconic way to swim was freestyle. That was what Quinn was doing. Since this was an alpha rivalry, emotions were already high. Anna could feel the tension thick in the air when they had guided her over. Quinn's yellow eyes and orange hair was more focused on Lester than on Anna. Whether that said anything about where Quinn's true attraction lied was anyone's guess. After the first lap finished, they were dead even.
Lester Tyker
Quinn Nathan
From the halfway mark of the third lap, Quinn began to pull ahead of Lester. Rather, it was Lester falling slightly behind. He looked like he was getting tired. Quinn was a cheeky brat from the looks of things. He did not appear to be an idiot. Quinn was the one that said they would go for 400 meters. There were certainly 100 and 200 meter races in swimming competitions. Maybe the length was something that the tanned Lester was unused to. She could see the strain in Lester's face. He gave it his very best but, he was unable to make up the ever widening distance between them. Quinn managed to beat him by 30 meters. It was not a close finish at all. To his credit, he did finish the race. Quinn was cheering in the water. Lester looked anguished. Anna got up and began walking over to the stairwell. The competition was over. She could meet them on the pool deck. Holding onto the railing, she made her way down the stairs slowly. Once on the deck, both boys looked at her. Quinn swam over to claim his prize. She paid him no mind. Lester was floating on his back in the water. He was upset.
