John left Tom and Sam's place, after Sam offered this couch to let John wait for his sister. He wondered what could be going on behind that closed door, hoping that Judy was doing the right thing. He walked down the 3 flights of stairs and came to his door. He pulled the key out of that tight pocket, appreciating the fact that he would have better pockets in about 30 minutes. Going into his place, he immediately went to his underwear drawer to get the medallion. As he was digging it out, he resolved to get some less boring boxers. He picked out an outfit he wore a few years ago, but put the shirt back since it didn't look good with the pants. After swapping the outfit a few more times, he realized what his "Amy" side was doing and went back to the original outfit. He took the medallion out of the bag, careful not to touch anything else. Just before he was about to touch his outfit, he heard a knock on his door as it opened
"Amy?" called Sam, "I have your phone. You left it at my place."
John rolled his eyes and dropped the medallion on the outfit, and went out of his bedroom saying, "Hey Sammy, that's too much!"
"Glad to be of service, Amy. While I'm here, I was thinking of grabbing some of the stuff Tom and I left behind. Here is my scotch. What some?"
John was going to say no, but saw it was Macallan aged 18 years. Wait, how did I not see that? It was super fancy stuff thought John before blurting out, "Sure!" Sam went into the kitchen and found a couple of glasses.
"You want it neat?"
"Totes! I mean, of course!" replied John waiting for Sam to pour a finger for each of them. Sam came over with the tumblers, handing one to John. "Cheers! To new friends!" said Sam holding his glass up. John tapped his glass to Sam's and they each took a sip. John's mouth burned for a second before the notes of spice and apricot came to the front. "Wow, this scotch is, literally, the best I've ever tasted!"
"I know right? It's so good. Normally, I can't afford this stuff, but I won it at a poker game. Fortunately, I had 3 of a kind to the previous owner's 2 pairs. It looks like your uncle has good taste in his scotch. Some of the bottles were probably a pretty penny, " said Sam while sipping his beverage in the kitchen.
"Some were. Also, John's totally not my uncle," replied John finishing his drink.
"So is he your dad? Based on what I'm seeing in here, he seems like a cool guy, except for the part where he doesn't like to share. Look at these records. And I saw the games and systems he had earlier. He has a original SNES," said Sam trying to pour a little more into both glasses. John used a hand to cover his glass after he saw what Sam was doing, and shook his head after a little more was put in. Sam put the top on the Macallan.
"Um, like, he's Judy's brother...so he's my...brother?" offered John. Sam nodded his head before replying, "I know what it's like being the youngest, I have 3 older siblings. In fact, when I was a kid...Holy Cow! Your brother has the original Mariokart?" Sam got the game off the shelf and into the console within moments. John was going to protest but he loved the game and Sam was so cute with his excitement. "Mariokart is so much fun! I guess I can, like, totally play some rounds!" answered John getting the controllers out. Sam put the TV to the correct input and John passed Sam his controller. The two sat on the couch as the music started up. Sam had played the more recent games, so he picked up the original pretty quickly. Soon, he was challenging John's skill and they were both having a great time
