“Michaela, can you put the mannequin that Dalia replaced yesterday in the display?” Rachael asked her friend.
“Sure thing, Boss lady,” Michaela answered as she headed to the storeroom to locate the mannequin in question.
In the storeroom, Michaela found the naked mannequin leaning against the wall. “Come on, honey time to get you back on your stand now that my friend Dalia has vacated it today,” Michaela said to the unmoving mannequin.
Carly barely heard the soft body in front of her. She was focused on the stillness. She was vaguely aware of being moved out of the storeroom, and being returned to her stand, and then two soft bodies fussing over her. She knew she would enhance whatever it was that was placed on her, for that was her purpose here.
"Maybe something different today," Rachael commented, mostly to herself. She pulled the blonde wig off of the mannequin, and went and got a brown haired one and placed it on, putting the other one back in storage. Then she went and got some of the merchandise they'd been trying to move the previous day, trying to figure out something different.
"Don't wait too long," Michaela said. "I mean, leaving her naked isn't going to attract any interest in anything."
Rachael shook her head. "I mean...knowing who was standing here yesterday...all I can see is Dalia."
"Oh...that's it...Well, the wig is a good start then," she mused. "I think maybe I'll try calling her again. I mean, if she isn't going to text more than once."
"Tell her to stop by when she's recovered from yesterday. It might not have worked out, but I should at least thank her."
"Sure thing."
"And then we have work to do."
Dalia walked through the park, which was filled with activity. Joggers, people sitting on benches, smaller people...children playing games, a fountain. She wondered what might be happening to her opponent as she learned about this world. This knowledge she was gaining...it had to come at someone's expense. She needed to experience as much as possible, knowing that the more she became part of this world, the less her opponent would be able to stop her, assuming by the time night fell again, she even knew why she was challenging her in the first place.
