Normally, Karyn tried to sit at the front of the classroom for English Literature, but on this day, that thought did not even occur to her. She instinctively walked with Sarah to the back row, as though she had always done so, and sat herself down right next to the other blonde.
For a brief moment at the beginning of class, there was a slight buzzing in Karyn's head, like a little mosquito telling her that something was wrong.
But then Sarah shot her a conspiratorial grin, and Karyn knew exactly what this meant. She turned her attention to the classroom door where several members of the school's football team were entering, adjusted her boobs, sat back in her seat, and crossed her legs, aiming a coquettish face towards the athletes as they verbalized their appreciation.
When the boys sat down, turning their backs to Karyn, she loosened back up again and gave Sarah a wink. Between the two of them, no boy on campus stood a chance.
But then Sarah's expression soured. "Ugh, what's his problem?" Karyn followed where Sarah was looking.
Jon Gibson had just entered the room. And he had a look of horror on his face as he stared straight at Karyn. Her first instinct was to dismiss the loser, but something about the way he was looking at her... the mosquito in Karyn's head grew into a bumble bee.
