Questioning them would be interesting. Anna was ready to rub elbows with the elite and powerful. There was going to be a photo opportunity that would go out to the press. Day 2 would be where the main event was. In the morning, they would give an address to parliament. All the members would each give a speech about what they were doing and how grateful they were that Breaca gave them the opportunity to live and play sports. The evening involved a ball at the prime minister's mansion. That would be fun. Bruce was part of the business elite. This was a chance to be among the political elite of the country. Day 3 was to recover and do last minute sight seeing before they got on the train to get them back home. They were all looking forward to this trip. The country of Breaca was broken into 5 regions just like Aflen was. Those were North, South, East, West and Central. Aflen was in the northern region of the country. Arriving in the capitol, the northern politicians of the Upper and Lower houses of parliament greeted them warmly. Anna and company were really happy.

Fighting and clawing their way past discrimination paid off. They were at the capital. The Upper House of parliament was exclusively for nobles. Whether they were born a noble or raised to the rank by decree of the party in charge of the government. The Lower house was decided by democratic means. Using proportional representation, the parties got members of parliament seated based on how high the percentage of the popular vote they were able to win per region. There were currently 5 parties active. The Conservatives were the alpha supremacists that also wanted reduced government spending. The Omegan Freedom party was for the politically active omegas of the country. They advocated for the rights and social freedoms of omega citizens. The Labor party looked out for workers' rights. Alphas naturally rose to the top of any hierarchy they entered. With betas and poor omegas being at the bottom, someone had to look out for them. The Shriners were a party of religious extremists and moralists. They were alpha supremacists that wanted all the spending.

Scythe Party was really popular in the east as that was the bread basket of the nation. Farmers and ranchers were well taken care of by them. There were 250 seats in the Lower House. Each region sent 50 members of parliament who were in charge of a riding. A riding was the name for the electoral district. People voted for party, not for individual people. To get a member in parliament, you needed 2% of the popular vote. For every 2%, the party got to add another member from the ranked list they published along with their manifestos. If each party had a published list of 10 party members, they would need 20% of the vote to get them all in. From 22% onwards, a conference of the regional or national party would convene to decided who would be sent to parliament. The party with a majority of the seats in the Lower House, 126 seats, could chose the prime minister. That was always the leader of the winning party, whether they had a seat or not. If they did not get a majority government, it was a minority government. They would need to form a coalition with a new party.
