Barnett liked women. So did Anthony. She could get by with blowing them during dates. After a week, everyone could see her pregnant belly. Everyone knew that she was pregnant, but none of them knew who the father was. It was something that she had to discuss. Calling both Kevin and Reilly for a Saturday brunch, she dropped the news. They had the right to know. Kevin looked at her evenly. "Alright. I'll say I believe you for now. That child is going to be tested for paternity when it is born. If it is not his, he's getting a divorce from you." he said. Anna simply smiled at him and said "Sure." Reilly looked nervous "Anna!" he whined. "There's no reason to worry. But if you are putting conditions on me like this, you better bet your ass that you're going to pay me 10,000 lin. We can call it a birthday gift." Anna said. Kevin held out his hand. It was a sign that he was seriously taking the bed. Anna reached out and shook it. Anna's hand was crushed by his. She did not want to back down. After the meal, they all split up and went their separate ways. All 3 had things they had to do.
Reilly had to go see his grandfather. Seeing as he had eloped in a foreign country, his grandfather could not use him as a bargaining chip. Being an alpha patriarch gave him a lot of power over his family. Being an executive of a business conglomerate gave him a lot of money and power in society. Isaac Idut was not the type of man who enjoyed his plans being subverted. Anna wished him luck. Rhys nodded his head and smiled. "With this news, there is not much he can do to me now. He can't risk a scandal going public." That was very true. Reilly was already way too independent. That was a scandal as it was. If he divorced her and she gave birth to some bastard children, it would be a greater scandal in polite society. Kevin had to meet with some clients. He was on the brink of getting a big promotion to upper management at the bank he worked at. It was important that things went well. Anna just wanted to get out there to go bash some alphas again. She had bought a combat knife from a gun shop. Guns could be traced. She also did not have a license to own a gun.
It did not really matter though. Because of her status as The Berserker and the clout in the South High delinquent gang, she was able to meet with a member of the adult gang they were affiliated with. Each delinquent funneled into a real gang after graduation. Most delinquents did not have the smarts or the funds for college. It gave them a lot of free time. Time that could be used for criminal activity between odd jobs. The more useful ones were fully employed in the gang's front operations. The grunts had to find their own day jobs and be on call for whatever the lieutenants wanted them to do. Obviously, they had the right to not join the adult gang. But what else would they do? Be losers? For South High, it was the South Side Swans that they joined after high school. It was a normal day when a sedan with black tinted windows pulled up beside her on the street. "Wanna get a ride with me, Anna?" the young man offered in a tone that told her she had no right to refuse. She just bent forward towards the window. "Depends on who's asking mw. I am a married woman, you know?"
