Only a week after that, another pair of dangerous curse spirits came into the valley. Krit and Knat barely escaped with their lives. It was a poor match up. While they were indeed Blade Spirits, they were both boomerangs. It was not a bad thing in most cases. They were aggressive on the field of battle. Bonking the enemy with bludgeoning and radiant damage hurt, but it lacked the power to get a real killing blow in most places. Especially when their enemies had armor. That was why they snapped the necks of their opponents manually after they went down. Their big battle ended inconclusively. The curse spirits fled in different directions. One was Exu the Noxious and the other was Joz the Mean. The boomerangs were very cracked and looked ready to fall apart. They got a big influx of prayers for their recovery. Their children had to come take them from the battle. Neither were able to make it back on their own. If it were up to them, they both would have died there if they were going back without a victory. I went over to Osna and Ethana to see if they knew how to stop it.
Personally, I was getting nervous. There were 5 cursed spirits. 6 original spirits came to this valley. Whoever came here next, I would be expected to fight it off. I probably would need to fight on my own too. Exu and Joz would be in a weakened state for a bit, but they would be back. No one was going to go out to find them on their own. It was a risk they did not want to take. Not after what they saw happen to the Blade Spirits. Other than the 3 tessan fans, I was the only one left to fight. There had to be a solution. Something that we could do would be better than nothing. I asked the Adventurer's Guild to see what they thought. They all knew some people who knew how to banish spirits. They were all high leveled clerics though. That meant they would need to go over the western mountain range in order to ask for such an individual to come. I paid them 5500 lin to get over there. We had no clue how long it would take them to get here. It was not like we had no clerics, but they were too squishy to stand against the cursed spirits. They also could not cast it. Too inexperienced.
It was something that had to be figured out. It was not like the armies were going to bail us out. They got obliterated. All I could do was brainstorm solutions. I asked my 2 incarnations what I should do. They told me to use my power as a holy weapon to bind them if I could not kill or send them back. Doing that never crossed my mind. I asked them how I could do that. They shared a look before patiently explaining it. I had to bring them down to half health before wrapping them with blessed chains and piercing them to the ground with blessed spikes. As a minor deity of the valley, I could simply cast bless on an item to accomplish that. The carpenters made me a dozen stakes. The smiths made 15 foot chains made of pure iron. I blessed all 12 of them. They would be crucial to my success. Something else that would be crucial were all my servants. Ras in particular. I had the carpenters and smiths make me another set of chains and stakes just in case since there was time. Having more in the reserves would be nice. Nguk the Terrible arrived right on time. He wanted his fight.
