My honest best bet would be to let the mercenaries fight. Eventually, they would lose and the wars would be over. I could probably smuggle myself, the servants and the clones out in the chaos along with my family. Or, if it was made impossible from the battle, I could simply chose a cunning officer that would be returning to their own homeland to be my next chosen champion. Either way, I would need to play this smart. A week passed before the next batches of soldiers arrived. One came over from the east and another from the west. Neither side was going to tolerate any obfuscation on where 2 whole legions had gone off to. When we refused to tell them what they wanted to know, they stormed off and went to gather their troops. Once again, both centuries came down from the mountains and started a siege. I was going to hold the spirits back so the mercenaries could die, but something else happened to the armies. Black shadowy tendrils erupted from the ground. A demon had appeared in the valley. Both centuries rallied their men, but it was no use. It took 179 men.
In the deadly struggle, one of the centuries was able to kill the demon at the cost of his own life. With only 21 survivors, half of which were practically comatose, the able bodied men fled. We killed the left overs. The loot was for the 4 towns to plunder. We saw nothing at all wrong with that. They were our enemies. 1 week later, another demon appeared. This was clearly not good for us. It walked straight to Battleville. "I am Ysio the Foul, a curse spirit. I demand that you come out here and fight me, you damn Saints and holy Blade Spirits!" All the Blade Spirits here had become holy weapons. It was so easy to pick off the weaklings at the edge of the river bank. Even the tessen fans and their offspring made it over. It seemed being so rich in spiritual and divine energy caused evil to be drawn to us. It was the eternal struggle between good and evil. Light and Dark. The river indeed kept all of the demons from crossing over, but any portal from the Spirit Realm could lead here. Especially if all the evil spirits specifically wanted to fuck with us just because a lot of us were over here.
Now that it has come to this, the humans might kick us out the valley themselves. The Osna put us where we were because they did not want us living among them. As it had the highest concentration of Saints and Blade Spirits inside, Battleville was the town targeted. The others had the shrines, but mine were the only ones that had any incarnations. Aydin had a holy weapon Blade Spirit and a couple Saint children, but that was nothing compared to us. It was not even close. Shank went out to meet it on his own. The battle was fierce and ugly. Both were super aggressive and heavy hitters. Ysio threw out a ton of curses. The curses debuffed the shit out of Shank. In the end, Shank only just managed to kill it. His child ran outside of the town to retrieve him. His blade was cracked and chipped. In order to revive him, a lot of prayers had to be done at all of his shrines. That did not stop another pair of cursed spirits from coming. Ace and Deuce took on this fight. The evil spirits were exterminated. Both of the nagas were down. Prayers went up for them. We needed to stop it sooner.
