I showed Uri and Ras the houses where the women were staying. "You can start mating with them. Pick the one that you want to live with." I said. That was all I needed to tell them. Like I said earlier, they would continue to do a great job as guardians until the next battle. Then I would use them against our enemies. I already knew that using other Blade Spirits allowed both of our kill counts to rise. Having the daggers in each hand would require a much different strategy. I did not think it was a bad thing to figure out how to master some close combat with enemies. Running up and stabbing people would be cool. It was crude and ugly, but really effective. Highly effective at times. Both of my servants were tantos. They jumped around and killed with relish. Blade Spirits would genocide nations if they could. Battle and killing was ingrained into them on an instinctual level. On the other hand, playing and wandering around was also part of being a free spirit. When children interacted with them, they were all pretty nice. Zox kicked a kid trying to pull his blade, but it could be worse.

My curiosity was piqued a little bit. The next day, there was a lot of children around the 8 shrines. They were not Osna children. It had made a bit of sense. After a fiasco like what happened the day before, they would all leap at the chance to mess with them today. They were not stupid kids. As the children of mercenaries and prostitutes, it was a fact that saw violence and all sort of crazy shit on their way across the mountains. They were pure of heart, but they knew what weapons were for. It made them eager to claim the Blade Spirits for themselves. They knew from the Osna children that Blade Spirits were strong and did what you say if you can get their weapons from them. It was usually that a spirit would choose a champion to wield them in order to grow much stronger together. However, it was possible to claim a spirit without their consent. That was the whole contest the dragon did with pulling out his large spear. With Zox's blade partially emerging from his butt, a lot of kids wanted to use this as a chance to advance. Having a Blade Spirit do what you say was a power.

Not even the adults among the mercenary band or the bandits living in Battleville had that power. All of the children were poking and prodding at the 7 Blade Spirits. They wanted the weapons and they wanted it now. While they were blessed with inhuman strength and reflexes, I did not envy their position. They had a job to do. That job was to stand there and keep watch over their assigned shrines. Everyone knew where to touch Zox to get his blade to pop out. He could only cover up his ass with his hands so much. I decided to give my new servants a break. They all looked like they were suffering. "Ras. Uri. I need to do something in Ethana today. I will wield both of you so you can come with me." I said. Both of them ran at me at full speed and turned into their daggers in my hands. The children were all amazed. Some came at me to see if they could get my weapons. The others got even more frenzied in their efforts to get the blades. I just gave them a head chop if they got handsy with me. There was nothing too painful. It was just a corrective tool. They stopped all that.
