He smiled at the high praise. I meant every word of it. Darrien knew that was the case. "You honor me. Let's go to them." he said. We walked towards the row of shrines to us Blade Spirits. They all went silent and pretended they were being busy at their posts. I pretended to be unaware of that fact. Counting them off, there were only 6 of them. The guardian for the other 6 shrines was not here. "Where is the seventh guardian?" I asked them. They all looked at each other. "Zox went after a few children. It needed to be seen to be believed. One of them climbed right up on Lord Ace's shrine. Human children can actually see us so, when he got angry, all of the children ran in different directions." Qwill explained with a smile on her face. She thought it was funny. Ace probably would not be amused with the children. "Darrien needs to return the weapon from my shrine. Since he's the guardian, I wanted him to do it for us. I guess I'll have to do it. It's my shrine after all." I said. I fiddled with it for a moment before realizing I had no clue how to open it. Qwill opened it. Darrien put it all in.
It was then that Qwill closed it up for us. I thanked her for her help. She nodded her head. "Think nothing of it, Lord David!" she replied. Darrien then excused himself and left us to check on his wife and children. I stayed there to troll the guardians that were still there. My right hand cupped my chin and I hummed as if I was thinking very hard about something. After a couple of hums, Qwill looked concerned for me. "Lord David, is something on your mind?" she asked me. I looked at the group and said "I was thinking about my servants. I allowed them to have wives and they are now pregnant. My household had increased by a lot. If they are going to have families of their own, I am probably going to need new servants." They looked at each other with some excitement, but they did not say anything. They had no place to offer themselves to me for service. "Rook and Knight have evolved from 2 daggers into a pair of strong, magical katanas. If I carry them with me into a battle, I would need something a bit smaller so I will not be overburdened. I guess I'd need 2 more daggers."
6 jaws dropped. This was exactly what they wanted. Still, none of them were taking the bait. "Now that I'm really wanting this, I have a problem." I said with a sigh. "What is it, Lord David!?" Uri asked nervously. "Well I can't just go to the other servants and poach them from their masters. That would not be fair. I was the one that set the assignments. Doing it would cause a big conflict. What I would need to do is ask a guardian, but are there any that even want to enter my service!? I don't know." I sighed again. Uri could not keep himself back. "M-master! I am available if you need a dagger, Lord David! You can take me into your service." That sent a shockwave through the group. Ras also volunteered. "I can do it as well, master. My dagger is sharp and ready to defend you whenever you need!" he pledged to me. Ahu tried to hold his copy back. "You forget yourselves, Uri! Ras! You are in the presence of Lord David." I gave them a straight look. "Show me those daggers. I want to see what makes you so confident that you 2 can protect me." I said. They slowly showed me.
