Jane had spent the last few hours going from shop to shop and eventually bought a fantastic statin red dress and a pair of shoes to match. It was just a shame that they wouldn’t be there when she woke up. Well even shopping in dreams was still fun.

It was around four when she spotted the beauty salon.

“I could always do with a new hairstyle.” She said out loud.

She had loved Rebecca’s hair in that episode of season one what was it called again. After a minute or two the name came to her “Jannie finds a corpse” That was it wasn’t it? Yeah, that was it. That was when she decided to get her hair done like that after all she was Rebecca in this dream of hers so why not have her hair like her?

An hour or two later she came out of the salon with her hair neatly curled, framing her face. Fantastic she now had the 50s hairstyle that Rebecca had in that episode. It looked great her blonde locks had never looked so good before. She would have to remember to ask her hairstylist to get her hair looking like this the next time she saw her.

She just wished that she had the same blue eyes that Rebecca had not that you could tell what colour they were in a black and white show, but she thought back to that article that she had read years ago. That was when she saw Rebecca’s eyes in colour for the first time.

She went to pick up a newspaper. She chose the one that she usually bought.

“That's a nickel, Miss.” Jane hands over a dime. The vendor rings it up on an old cash register.

“Jannie? Jannie Gibson? Is that really you?"

Jane pauses, with a flicker of surprise in her eyes. “Yes, that’s me,” Jane replied

“You probably don't recognize me. It's Jimmy Goodman. We went to DeWitt High together, class of '43.” Jimmy told her

Jane vaguely remembered a character that she had seen Rebecca talk to in another episode. That must have been Jimmy she thought.

“Jimmy! Of course. It's been... a while.” Jane said feigning recognition of the man.

Jimmy hands over the change, a warm smile on his face.

“Don't worry about not remembering me Jannie, a lot has happened in the last few years. The war, you know? It changes a fella.” Jimmy said giving Jane the perfect excuse for the slip.

“Sorry, Jimmy it has been one of those days,” Jane replied relieved that she hadn’t offended the mam.

“Say, what do you fancy going for a drink to catch up? There's a bar just across the street. Duffy’s?” Jimmy asked.

Jane thought about it for a moment and then said, “Sure why not.”

It had been a long time since she had gone to a bar, especially with a man she had just met even if he was an old school friend of who she was supposed to be at that moment.

“Great! I'll just shut up shop here, and then we can go. It won't take a minute.” Jimmy told her

“Not a problem,” Jane smiled, a genuine one this time. An unexpected drink might be just what she needs.

Back in the 21st century

“So, what do we do next? Do we go back to trying to get your mom out or find out what happened to your sister?” Rebecca asked

“I’m not sure,” Jon replied. He knew that he didn’t have much time to rescue his mom and now having something happen to Zoe as well just made things even harder to work out.

Meanwhile, in Zoe’s bedroom, a figure stirred.

“Ugh… My head… Where am I? Whoa! Okay, this is definitely not my room. My room is not this… black. Like, not even a little.” A voice said from the darkness.
