Just killing Prince Robert would not making things better for the faction Anna was in. Releasing him was a sign of good faith. It was made perfectly clear she could kill at any point. She did not even need to fight him at all since she had the gun from the very beginning. However, it showed that she did not want to kill any princes yet. With the blanket pardon, all of the evidence in that binder was useless to them. It was old news. It still was a very difficult conversation to have with the Idut Family though. All those murders of alphas meant something. Kevin said "Don't look at me for saying that shit was okay. You killed those assholes trying to steal Ronan from us. You are also the mother to 2 of my grandchildren. You're going straight to hell for this. Just don't get my family caught up in all your bullshit." That was pretty tepid. Anna had long earned his respect, but he had always known that there was something off about her. With the pardon, she was a free woman. It did not mean that her reputation did not take a hit. Alpha supremacists still protested at the mansion.
If they wanted to scream and yell, that was fine. Anna knew they were simply acting out because their fragile egos were challenged. Because of the controversy, it was not ideal for the faction to meet up there. No one wanted this to affect the opinion of the 3 princes. Reilly, Ash and Cedar needed to go to Lord Layton's house if they wanted to hang out. Anna was rich and crafty. She went out in disguises. Sometimes she dressed like a female servant of the house. Sometimes she cross dressed to look like a man. They were alpha supremacists. Betas barely entered their radar. She could walk right past them and none of them would recognize her. Half of them did not even notice she was there at all. That was how she was able to get to Lord Layton's mansion. When they met for the first time since the incident, he smiled at her. "I honestly was not expecting you to be able to best the prince. Was a superhero too weak for a beta female?" he admitted. Anna shrugged. "You were presented the binder. My kills were mostly grown alpha men. Robert is a little boy."
Knighted for his previous accomplishments and with royal blood in his veins, Prince Robert was reportedly brooding on the loss when not training to extreme degrees. All the negative comments he received humbled him. This alpha male got his ass kicked by a beta female on national television. And then he, a literal superhero, was held hostage by that criminal beta until his father had to cave to her demands. It was an awful showing. The king and queen had to have been humiliated. Even if it was the son of a concubine, it was still King Percival's child. For them to watch this travesty, it must have gotten under their skin. Robert even let slip that Anna specifically flouted her authority because her seal was on the initial arrest warrant. Once she had actually won the fight, it was egg on her face. Anna did not have to respect the queen. This did not advance the prospects of the 3 princes, but it lowered Robert's and embarrassed the leader of the rival faction. Layton suggested that they throw a ball at their mansion. "To celebrate the outcomes of their duel." he said.
