A few blocks away, Jon picked up his cell phone and selected Karyn in his contact list. "Your number can't be completed as dialed...please check the number and try again." He frowned.
He hit it again...same result.
Then he tried again...and couldn't find Karyn's contact number in his list. Was his phone malfunctioning all of the sudden?
He yelled to his mother that he was going out for a few minutes and headed down the street toward Karyn's house, but quickly found himself getting turned around. As if, despite knowing exactly where it was, he couldn't get there...similar to the phone.
Jon started to get worried, as he gave up and headed home. He'd just have to find her at school tomorrow.
