College was important. By law, every citizen had the right to pursue free public education at a government funded university if they had the grades. If not, they could still go if they were willing to pay a tuition fee. However, the reason for it was different depending on your gender. Alpha studied business, pre-med, pre-law and the STEM fields to prepare themselves for a cutthroat world of striving to the top of some system. Whether it was head surgeon at a hospital, partner at a law firm or CEO of a mega corporation, they would need to show why they were top dog. Just being an alpha was not enough. Omegas were nominally there to study humanities, nursing or social work. Really, the shrewd omegas of middle class families were looking for successful looking alphas with bright futures to marry or baby trap. Omegas of rich families were already set for life. They just needed any degree to justify why they were put in charge of some minor branch or shell company under their alpha parents. Betas ran the whole spectrum when it came to their major. They just wanted stability.
Kevin's children would all be going to college. Reid and Rhys were already married. Ronan and Reilly would most likely be pressured to date rich alphas during that time to forge connections between the Iduts and other families of note in Breaca's social elite. Anna was still in high school in real life. Going to college in a video game did not appeal to her at all. She knew that she would if she had to. Anna did not trust Bruce not to set Reid and Rhys up with alphas if she and Molly were not there with them at all times. "Hearing the progress you've all been making, I can't say that I'm all that impressed. The only ones making our name a globally recognized commodity here are the omegas. And it's by doing sports." he said. The last sentence was dripping with disdain. He either hated sports, or the idea of omega males excelling at sports. Either way, it made the boys deflate a little. "Kurt and Damon have quite the way to go. What are they doing in school aside from studying? I was captain of the rugby team 2 years in a row in high school." Bruce said. It was the latter reason after all.
He looked at Kevin. "I've been lenient with you. What happened to your omega was unacceptable. I let you keep him even after the accident. This is way more favoritism than you've accused me of showing your brothers. Your dispensation for Reid's marriage was something I never would give to them. Then Rhys was stolen right from under your nose." he growled. Kevin lowered his gaze. "It was only luck that you've secured 2 proper heirs. Maybe a third alpha is on the way. Maybe it will be another omega." he continued. Looking at Reilly and Ronan. "I'm setting you 2 up with an alpha to date. I'm not expecting a marriage to come of this, but some of you need to be seen as proper omegas." This was the heel turn. Reilly and Ronan looked horrified. Kevin looked up at Bruce in shock. "But Father, you yourself said you would give them 5 years to have their career in tennis!" Bruce's lips quirked up at the corners. "I'm not allowed to change my mind?" he challenged. Kevin just looked down. Waving away their concerns, he added "They can still play. Just while with alphas."
It was exactly what Anna said would happen. Not even Anna had expected this to happen so soon. This was crazy. Anna honestly did not know what to say. She did not know if speaking up now would only make things worse on them. Kurt and Damon were also going to be given omegas to date. They seemed happy that they would finally be able to get their dicks wet. Bouncing a tight omega on their knot was something all alphas looked forward to in life. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, or so they say. Jeffery was already the head of his department in the best hospital in the city. There was nowhere to improve. Dion was a beta male. No one cared if he improved or not. At the end of the day, there would become a point he would hit the limits a beta could achieve in the society. Kevin just got his promotion and his 2 grandchildren. Another was on the way as well. He was sitting pretty right now. Bruce said "That is all for now. You may retire for the night. In the morning, you can leave, or accompany me to the opera later in the evening." he said before leaving.
