He was from a very small family with 2 beta parents. Alpha genes were still a recessive factor compared to beta. Omega genes were the same way. You could have several beta ancestors and still be born as an omega or alpha. Omega and alpha genes were co-dominant. Environmental factors could lead to their awakening to one secondary gender over the other. Rion and his friends just kept to themselves. It was probably why there were practice mating minigames and so much porn and melodrama about slutty alphas becoming omegas after bottoming to other, more masculine alphas. That was why the alphas were so very paranoid about bottoming. Even touching an alpha male's ass was liable for violent reprisal. Unless you were willing to get all the blood tests done, alphas were never too secure. This was especially the case when they had omega mothers. No one wanted the risk. Why would they!? They wanted to dominate.
Sigmas were a very different case. If their genotype was sigma-sigma, they were a sigma. If it was split as anything else, they would present as an alpha. In that way, the secondary gender fully earned its rarity. Only 2 sigmas breeding could guarantee each child was also a sigma. Even a sigma-omega genotype would lead the resulting child to present an alpha. They would really be in danger of losing alpha status later on if they were affected negatively by a real environmental factor. In Rion's case, it seemed that he was just lucky enough to have beta parents that both had a recessive gene that led to him becoming an alpha now. His genotype could be sigma-alpha, sigma-beta, sigma-omega, alpha-alpha or alpha-omega. This great fortune led to him being very cocky. As an alpha, he deserved an omega bouncing on his knot. If one had popped for him yet, that was. That was what society told him. It told everyone that.
