Sarah began talking: "Now girls, as you know, the prom is approaching, and that should be a time for us to shine. We're all best friends here, and I'm sure we'll be supportive of whoever gets selected as Prom Queen."
"But Sarah," Melissa said, "We're not the only girls running for prom queen."
"Exactly," Sarah said, "And that's why I intend to use this stone. Now, I was going to just make all the other girls in the competition butt ugly, but this stone has a limited range, so instead I'll make it so we don't have to do as much work."
With that, she took a step back and said:
"For my first wish, I wish that every wish I make in this room that contains the word 'we' or 'us', that those wishes apply to every person in this room."
"Next, I wish that we would always have the most expensive, fashionable, designer clothes, and will not want to wear anything else until after prom. I also wish that we would always have expertly applied makeup and professional manicures and pedicures. I wish all of us would do whatever it takes to get ourselves or anyone else in this room elected prom queen. I wish for all of us to have the most beautiful designer dresses for prom. Finally, I wish for all of us to be friends forever."
"Wow," Tara said,"That was a mouthfull. Are you sure it will work?"
"Only one way to be sure," Erica said, "It's time for school."
Suddenly, the girls heard a rustling noise in the corner of the basement...
