"Dinner time!" Amber and Jon were interrupted as the door opened and Linda poked her head in. "I had pizza delivered since we have so many guests."
"Oh, Julie has her friends over?" Amber asked curiously.
"That easy to guess?" Linda chuckled.
"Renee and Sarah are attached to her hips. I'm glad they are so close." Amber replied.
"Just be careful how close you get with Jon or I may need to make sure you keep the door open." Linda joked, surprised as Jon seemed to jump slightly at her implication. "Everything okay Jon?"
"Y-Yeah, we'll head down in a minute." He knew he seemed suspicious, but hoped he played it off well enough. The look Amber and his mom gave him said they were worried but they didn't ask anymore questions.
Linda moved to Julie's room and repeated her message.
"Amber is going to be joining us too." Linda told the group as Julie was pausing the episode they were watching.
"Amber?" Sarah was shocked to hear the name of her friend.
"We'll head down in a minute mom." Linda nodded, smiling to herself at how similar her kids could be at times as she left.
"We shouldn't be surprised knowing Amber is here would perk Sarah up." Renee was grinning.
"Why should that perk me up?" Sarah was confused. She had no clue why Amber would be at Jon's house for dinner.
"I know Amber's always been nice to us, and you kind of look up to her." Julie walked over to her friends as Renee and Sarah headed toward the door.
"If it wasn't for Sabrina's name I'm sure Amber would have been head cheerleader. Everyone already likes her better." Renee sighed.
"Amber doesn't let it bother her, so we shouldn't either." Julie looked at Sarah directly. "You might want to tell her about the Sabrina incident today. Amber would probably be willing to make sure Sabrina doesn't do too much damage to your reputation."
Sarah only stared at Julie for a moment. Amber was still a cheerleader? Somehow Amber was more popular and there were people that wanted her to be head cheerleader?
"Yeah, I'll, uh, see if she's willing to do something." Sarah finally managed to say.
"I still don't know how Jon managed to end up with Amber." Renee was the first to head out of the room and led the others toward the kitchen.
"They've been friends forever. Just because Amber is popular doesn't mean she'd forget the people who were there for her." Julie said a little defensively for her brother.
"Calm down Julie, I'm not saying Jon's not a catch or anything. It's just he can be a little goofy sometimes too." Renee put her hands up to try calming her friend.
"She's got you there Julie." Sarah added, knowing how out of touch Jon could be.
"I mean, you're not wrong, but still..." Julie trailed off as they reached the table where the others were already seated.
There Sarah saw the new Amber sitting next to Jon. Her jaw dropped as she realized Amber was the same girl she had seen earlier with Jon. Somehow she had swapped lives with Karyn Black?
