Linda only really knew Gillian DeVries because their kids were friends. But that was how she had met many people, including Bethany Black, whose daughter was dating her son, but they were friendlier.
She and Bethany had a lot more in common. They were both single mothers. Gillian DeVries was, by comparison, divorced. Her ex-husband didn't live in Lake Point any longer. Gillian was a bit eccentric, but a responsible mother. Sarah seemed to daydream a lot, but she'd been a good friend to Julie.
Gillian answered immediately, and Linda told her what had happened. "Sarah must be so embarrassed...does she want to come home?"
"She seems fine right now," Linda said. "But, I'll call you if anything happens."
"Linda, Sarah doesn't like to mention it, but tell her to take care of herself. She will know what I mean."
"So, I have nothing to worry about...?"
"No...Sarah just gets confused sometimes...caught in her own stories. She has a great imagination."
The previous day, Gillian encouraging her daughter's creativity had produced a daughter with an interest in the occult. Today, her new daughter, not that she knew that, had an interest in magic, but more of a fantasy nature, not looking as much for magic in the real world. Sarah was driven with her interests, and her mother was sure someday she would be successful with them.
Upstairs, Renee and Julie were arguing about what anime they wanted to watch, and Sarah was feeling distracted again.
