Evil they might be, but they were not unfeeling. Adventuring with their parties was very fun. Bonding inevitably happened. By the time they got to 110 missions, they had their party members absolutely in love with them. Since the quota was one soul each, they paired up with the ones they liked the least. By entering dreams, they were slowly warped to the point they could be taken. The duel for platinum rank really showed it. All it took after that was a simple kiss from them. They killed the adventurers without issue and slipped into a pocket dimension with the souls. It placed them all over in different places in Avernus. Each of them had the components to make a teleportation circle. They came in and cleared the way. It was Blondie that came in first. Then it was Manny. Third was Sorrath. The day after was Goldie. He was pissed and injured. He tried it at the same as someone else. It was bad. Not only did it fail to take him, the failure caused a substantial amount of force damage. That had to suck. Bel had no choice but to reward them. They were given the new legions to lead.

Rolling Tack, Teck, Tock and Tuck into those legions was easy. I put them in as the second in command of each legion. That was something tangible that Argan could not compete with. Devils in the court were upset. None of the sycophants picked by Bel had high opinions of them. That was because we were all newcomers. Upstarts that refused to fall in line were hated. It was a massive boon for fiends so young. Bel quieted them down. This was something he had swore on the River Styx about. If he had failed to deliver on this, very bad things would happen to him. The river was really old and really powerful. Even if it was something he had to do due to losing a bet, Bel could not let it slip. He did not want others trying to usurp his authority with petty but pointed bets. He certainly did want to admit to the court I had outmaneuvered him here. That would be bad for him. It certainly could lower his legitimacy in the eyes of others. He was a paragon of all pit fiend virtues. Bel did not bend to the will of a little incubus. That was impossible. It was something Bel would keep secret until his death.

Jalgros and Zannormin too, if they were smart. They were there for the bet. I had noticed that they were not coming around to gloat anymore. Cutting ties with them was unnecessary. They already knew to tread lightly. Even if a soul was brought down to the Hells, it was useless if it was not strong. They were all platinum adventurers, but most of the missions they took were of the most mundane sort. That did not make them all that strong compared to some actual bronze ranks. However, they were still decently leveled for humans. Bel took them and made them wash their bodies in the River Styxx. It erased all of their memories of life. When they came out, they were made bone devils. I noticed that Manny and Sorrath did not seem to care. Blondie looked annoyed. Goldie looked actually hurt. After we were dismissed, I caught up with them and asked why they were upset. Blondie was annoyed a lover was taken from him and made ugly. Goldie wanted to speak in private. We moved to my room. He said he left his true lover behind. It was a love triangle. Seeing side piece warped hurt.
