Jon could see Pete and Trevor alternating between looking at him with a mix of laughter and pity and looking at Karyn with nothing but lust. He looked at Trevor first and thought his costume and Trevor were not a million miles apart. Trevor was wearing shorts, velcro trainers and a Paw Patrol Tee Shirt. The tee shirt in particular was tight on Trevor but he just about pulled it off. Jon looked down at his own lap and seeing all the layers of his dress covering his thighs and his white tights covering his lower legs he did envy Trevor. At least he was dressed like a younger boy instead of a younger girl. But still, Jon took solace in the fact that both Trevor and Pete would be eternally jealous of Jon if he played it cool and eventually hooked up with Karyn tonight.
Next Jon took a moment to admire Peter's costume. He looked like a mutant car man. The school had actually produced pretty good costumes and Pete was wearing a full bodied cat suit with realistic fur and a seminrigid tail that wished as he walked. On his head he wore a headband and had face paint to give him cat features and whiskers. Pete was grabbing the front of his costume between the legs and looked to be in some discomfort.
"You OK there Pete," Jon tried to say but the pacifier that he had mostly forgotten about made it sound like he was just mumbling. He quickly pulled out the pacifier and repeated himself. Pete looked a bit embarrassed but shared his problem with the group." Well, my cat costume actually had a big hole in it so I had to borrow this one fromnthebdrama department in school. But I'm pretty sure they gave me one of the girls costumes as it is much tighter in the crotch than my one was. But I will suffer on. I'd rather be a female cat person than a teenage sized baby girl!" Pete reached in and pinched Jon's cheek as he said that part. Jon swatted his hand away and shouted.
Karyn, wanting to appear motherly interjected," Now Ms Kitty, please don't upset my little princess. She hasn't had her nap today so she is a bit cranky. Why don't we head to the party so we can relax a bit." Karyn lead the way and Pete and Trevor followed beside the pushchair and they all chatted excitedly about the pending party.
