Really not wanting to deal with this, I smiled at them awkwardly. Hopefully we could move on with out day. I said "C'mon guys. It's not a big deal. You never had the keys and this was never your car. I'll give you a consolation prize of some money." They were thinking about it. "Is that alright?" I asked. We did not need them getting ideas. It got them to agree. I gave them 10,000 credits each. I would have killed them if they had not taken the offer. We had no obligation to give them anything when we were stronger than them and we were in the right. Killing them would be a hassle. Neither of us needed soldiers to be alerted to our presence. They were really happy about that amount. It made sense. All I needed to do was see their tattered clothes to know they were street rats. They were poor and were raised by the streets. 10,000 credits would be enough to do a lot of things they had only dreamed of. Of course, it would be a one time thing if they decided to blow it on bucket list items. What they did with money was none of my concern. They smiled at us as they swaggered out of the alley.
I could see the displeasure clearly on Oswin's face. There was a disagreement in how I handled this. His fists were balled up. "Why... why did you do that, Brianne!?" the green eyed cyborg asked me. "What do you mean? They were trying to steal my car just now. One of their friends were probably on the way with a lockpick. We need it to get out of here. I got them to leave." was my response. That answer did not satisfy Oswin. "You could have let me handle it for you. I do not like seeing someone I am caring for robbed by criminals." Something told me it would not be an Advocate approved way of handling it. Looking at him with a small smirk on my face, I asked "Oh? I don't know. What would you have done differently?" He looked me right in the eyes and gave me his answer. "I would have... beat them up." he said. I was certain that he would have killed them. "Wow. I didn't expect that answer. I'm not someone that likes to fight every single person that slights me. Especially when I know I'm so much stronger than them. We're all human at the end of the day." I replied. Oswin was silent.
Since we were at an awkward point, I decided to move on. I tossed him the keys. He caught them easily and then looked at me in confusion. "I am a bad driver. You can take the wheel. Let's go to Dwan Town." I explained. He nodded his head and we got in the car. He began driving. Just as I expected, he was a great driver. Oswin had a bit of road rage, but that was also pretty common in humans. When we finally got to the town, I invited him for our second date in the big park. Now that we had time, we could have some fun. That was where I had originally wanted to go. Going with someone would make it better. He looked at me and smiled. Seeing that, I knew he was in for the experience. "Okay. That sounds fun." was his response. Oswin liked the swings, monkey bars and the slide in the playground. I expected that. The playgrounds were made to appeal to children. He also liked watching all of the ducks at the pond on the north side of the park. What he liked the most was the handball courts. There already were some people. They invited us to play. He crushed everyone. I liked that.
