The four of them sat and chatted for a while as they ate and drank. Linda even managed to get a few smiles and a laugh out of Rayne, who started the night very guarded, but started to loosen up after a few glasses of wine. It turns out the boy she had been seeing was treating like a princess up until they had sex for the first time, and then he’d ghosted her.
“Ah, the ol’ smash and dash” Linda had said which made her chuckle at the stupidity of the name, “guys like that are terrible” she added.
Meanwhile Zoe and Alice had been flirting up a storm, and it was clear the two of them had only one thing on their minds. Once their empty plates had been cleared from the table Alice leant forwards and glanced between the other three.
“So,” she said with a sly grin, “how about we take this party to one of the clubs?”
“Yeah why not” Rayne said, her face a little flushed from the wine, and a little from Linda’s charm offensive. With that the four of them headed out of the restaurant, and accross the resort where there were a few bars and clubs also owned by the hotel. They had a few more drinks in one of the bars, then moved onto a club where Linda and Rayne sat in a corner and chatted while Zoe and Alice hit the dance floor, Alice grinding up against Zoe with every song. Eventually the DJ announced the club was closing soon and the two of them returned to the others.
“So, how would you ladies like to keep the party going at our penthouse?” Zoe asked, finishing off the drink in her hand.
“You should see the view from the balcony” Linda said to Rayne who still looked a little hesitant.
“Yeah, come on Rayne,” Alice grinned, “Z told me they have a fully stocked mini-bar. Let’s at least go for one drink” she added.
“Yeah fuck it, why not” Rayne smiled back, and with that the four of them headed back to the main building.
“Holy crap!” Alice gasped as the elevator doors opened into the penthouse, “this place is huge!”
“That’s not the only thing that’s huge” Zoe whispered behind her, giving her a pat on the ass to push her into the room.
“That a promise?” she muttered back with a giggle.
“I kinda need the bathroom” Rayne said, a little tipsy.
“No problem” Linda grinned, “you can use the one in my room, I’ll show you” she said, leading her towards the stairs. She shot Zoe a wink as the went past.
“Oh good idea, I’ll use the one in Z’s” Alice smirked, grabbing Zoe’s hand and pulling her after them. When they reached the landing between the rooms, Linda guided Rayne into the fourth room (the only one that hadn’t been used yet), and Zoe took Alice into the room she’d claimed when they arrived.
Linda took a seat on the bed while Rayne headed into the bathroom, trying to figure out a way to buy them some time together. When Rayne re-emerged she took a seat next to her and sighed.
“Everything ok?” Linda asked.
“Yeah,” Rayne replied a little distantly, “I mean I know what Alice is going to be doing with your friends, I just wish I had her confidence” she sighed.
“Hey,” Linda said sternly, “you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself! So what if some guy ditched you, fuck him! You’re a really interesting and fun person in your own right!” She added with a smile. Rayne smiled back and lay her head on Linda’s shoulder.
“Can we stay like this and just talk for a bit?” She asked.
“Sure thing.” Linda replied.
