So, I guess this is my family now? Is that what the Stone was going to do, shuffle everyone's lives around like we're so many playing cards in so many places? But I wished it wouldn't be that interesting... He thought on the way to school. I guess I could've ended up with that meathead Biff for a Mom and Mrs. Black for a little sister or something, but that would've been too interesting. Too zesty. So... uninteresting life swaps only? He thought a little more. Is it uninteresting? Seems plenty interesting to me!
Jon thought about the series of wishes. He'd wished it was the least interesting it could be....but it couldn't contradict the original wish for it to be interesting.Then he tried to wish it even less interesting...to uninteresting...but could it do both of those things, or just one? And which one? Either way...it had traded one Goth sister for another Goth sister. One mother for another mother...and Karyn's mom and his mom were friendly and he'd spent so many hours at Karyn's house and vice versa that it was like having a second Mom. The only one he didn't quite get was having a little sister over a little brother. He didn't have any idea who Molly was. But how many little kids did he know? But that made him think it might not be totally uninteresting.
The car pulled up to school. Okay...I need to confirm where Zoe, Mom, and Mikey are. If Athena is now my sister...is Zoe now Zoe DeVries? That would be sort of easy.
Athena jumped out of the car and headed toward the school, giving Bethany a less than enthusiastic bye...which was more than Zoe usually did. Jon got out and Bethany drove off. He joined the crowd of people around the school, trying to see something different, interesting or not.
He headed to his first class and was surprised to see Miss Warren, Mikey's teacher, in the room. He'd seen her a few times...but what was she doing here?
