Jon sighed. "Sure, I'll wait here," she said.
"Excellent!" said Max, opening the door wide and making a sweeping arm gesture.
Jon walked into the foyer of the house as Max closed the door behind them.
"So what's your name?" asked Max.
"Jon," answered Jon. Max looked a little confused, so Jon added, "It's a long story."
"So tell me," said Max. "I've got lots of time. Hey, you want something to drink?"
"Uh, just some water."
Max led Jon into the kitchen and got them both bottles of water out of the fridge. They sat down at the table, Jon glad she could finally stop holding up her too-large clothes.
"Okay, so what's going on?" asked Max.
