Going back to her room, Jess found a phone she had never seen before. More modern, bigger screen, more camera lenses, fancy looking.
Grabbing it, it unlocked with her face. She found the text app and looked for Karyn. She could see other people listed there, but chose to ignore them for now. Lots of direct messages and different groups had unread counts.
“Hey Karyn, what’s up?” Jess texted as she would always do. She could see they had texted just a few hours ago and had a long history of texts she wasn’t even aware of. She would have to check those later.
“Nothing is up! I’m bored. Wanna hang out later?”
“Why not now? I can pick you up and grab some lunch.”
“Sure, come on over”.
Jess found some car keys in her room and went to the garage. Activating the remote, she found a simple and small car. Not her dream car by a long way, but decent enough. She wondered how much of all this was Jennifer’s doing? Could it be Jennifer was actually very good at using the stone? She could’ve turned into a megalomanic dictator of the world in those 2 years, but she appeared to just be wealthy.
Arriving at Karyn’s she found it just as she had seen it yesterday, at least in her subjective time.
Coming in, she saw Karyn’s mom who looked the same and told her Karyn was in her room.
Karyn looked the same, at least her new same, blonde with big breasts.
Karyn seemed happy to see Jess, getting up to give her a hug that lingered just a little longer than Jess would’ve liked. Her foreign shape, pressed against Karyn’s, made her fully aware of her new life. Karyn would never hug her old male self, and now she had casually hugged her like it was nothing.
“I missed you, you know?” Karyn said.
“What do you mean?” Jessica’s heart skipped a couple of beats, was Karyn aware of everything?
