Jennifer drove Jessica in silence. Jess could see it was a different car she had seen Jennifer driving just moments ago. She could see the admiring looks they were getting from other drivers and pedestrians.
Jess guessed it was not everyday their town got to see 2 beautiful women driving a luxury sports car. It hit her then, the reality of her new situation. She still couldn’t believe she had skipped 2 years, it had to be a trick from Jennifer. Anyway, she was Jessica now, that was undeniable. She had been so busy thinking of ways to go back to being Jon, to get revenge, she hadn’t even processed what had happened to her.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Jennifer.
“So, you’re graduating soon. I took the liberty of arranging your college applications and missing years, you’re going to your dream school, to study your dream career. Also any gaps in knowledge will be automatically filled as you need them. Academic knowledge at least, I’ll leave the job of knowing what happened these 2 years to you.” She said with a cheeky smile. “Anyway, you can carry on with your life as if you had never left, maybe even better!”
“I don’t understand, Jen. Why are you being nice to me? I mean, apart from not letting me go back to being Jon” Jessica replied, actually intrigued.
“What do you mean, little sis? You’re my sister and I love you. I want to do nice things for you, I want to help you stop doing stupid shit”. She said honestly. “And I really think you’re better off as Jessica. All that doesn’t prevent me from having fun at your expense from time to time.” She grinned.
That left Jessica thinking. Jennifer sounded honest, why wouldn’t she be? She was her sister after all, or rather her old self turned into her sister. What a mess.
Could she be getting worried for nothing? Her old self didn’t even exist now, and if she believed Jennifer, he hadn’t existed for 2 years. Even if she went back to being a boy, she’d never be back to being Jon. All those intertwined wishes would make it hard.
