Still in shock at what had happened, the new Jessica knocked on Jennifer's door a few times. No one answered, but after additional louder knocks, she could her mom's voice from downstairs.
"Jessica, just leave your sister alone. I could hear you arguing again, respect her space and let her be." Linda said.
"But mom, I need to talk to... to Jennifer" Jessica answered.
"No buts, young lady. We've talked about this, each of you have a room and we have to respect each other's spaces." Linda said climbing the stairs. Now closer, she continued "Jess, do I need to repeat myself?" Jess could see her mother looking better, like the mom of a super model. She wondered how she herself would look now.
Defeated, Jess went to her new room and went straight to the mirror. She looked like the old Jess, but somehow different. Her features slightly improved, her body more toned and curvy. Jennifer's wish had really made her more beautiful.
Jennifer... the new Jess couldn't believe Jon didn't exist anymore, at least as an identity. Just like that, her old existence had vanished, only Jennifer and herself to remember his 16 years of life. Suddenly, she thought of Karyn. What would their relationship be now? Would they even be friends? She guessed yes, but also realized even if they were, she was Jessica now, not Jennifer. She had her own set of friends.
The new Jess couldn't hold it anymore and started crying. She cried for her lost life, for her changed identity, for her new life. After a few minutes of crying though, she found new resolve.
"I will get my rock back and return things to normal" she said out loud.
