Adam isn't doing anything wrong by wanting to attempt to synchronize with multiple partners either. Catching grudges was not what Calvin was not here to do. He genuinely wanted to be friends with everyone. Guy was a loner. More than that, he was a xenophobe. He did not trust the hybrids at all.
