Zoe hated, absolutely hated, the fact her natural color was blonde, and would go to any length to hide it. She hated even more if someone pointed it out. "I'm still changing" I said, "My hands.."
"What about your hands?" Zoe demanded.
"They're smaller, my nails are longer, and I think they 'have some kind of polish on them" I said, showing Zoe my hands. She took one look at me and shook her head.
"Get a hold of yourself, sis. I can''t see any change, and trust me, you don't have polish on them. I can fix that if you want. Paint them to suit you, or better, make them like mine" Zoe said, grinning wickedly. Her grin faded as she saw me stare at her. "What?"
Ï don't think its just me"
"Änna, you're not changing, unless you're trying to be the most annoying girl I know. Practicing to be my annoying little sis... but I'll bite. How are your 'changes' causing me to change?"
"You're not going to like it.. Fine. You're going blonde. At the roots of your hair. Sorry, I know you hate it..."
Zoe gave me a death glare. "You better not be hallucinating..." she said, her voice menacing. She paused, studied my face and gave a slight shriek. To my surprise, I found her goth outfit did not prevent her from running quite fast. My uniform prevented me from following at anywhere near the same speed, plus I was unused to my changed body. Not that it mattered; boy or girl, I was quite unathletic. Giving up on the chase, I walked back. When I got back, I found the door slightly ajar, the pizza box on the counter as if it was hurriedly shoved aside, and still no sigh of mom or Mikey. I went in, and closed the door. As for Zoe, she had her head in the sink, as if she was giving herself an emergency dye job. I couldn't help but smile slightly; I wasn't going crazy.
"What are you smiling for" Zoe demanded, her usual scowl returning.
"See? I'm not going crazy."
"Ï just did a poor job. I'm not changing, and I don't see how the fact you've become lil miss prim and proper would affect me. Just eat your pizza, Joanna."
I resisted the temptation to say ýes mom' to Zoe since I needed her help to get rid of my girlish hair. Instead, I asked, "Where is mom?"
"Won't be back until tomorrow mid morning. Will give me plenty of time to have some fun with my sister"
"You didn't use the stone?" I asked, worried.
"Do you think I'm an idiot?" Zoe said as she grabbed some pizza and started taking big, unladylike bites out of it. A habit she had to piss off mom. I was more dainty, a fact that did worry me slightly. Plus I ate nowhere near the usual amount. Was I slowly changing mentally? Hormone induced?
"Zoe? I need your help" I said, once I'd finished.
"What?"
"Can you cut my hair. I need to start getting myself back to normal."
"Can't. Think it suits you. Can't go to St Marys tomorrow with very short hair" Zoe said.
"Not going to happen. I'm getting out of this stupid uniform. Think we should burn it?"
Zoe gave a slightly evil grin, but didn't say anything. I took it as a sign to get out of there. Once in my room, I unbuckled and kicked off my mary janes, then the skirt. "Better" The shoe clacking with every step was a constant reminder. Then the ribbons in my hair., and the blouse. I frowned, since I still looked very girlish. Unlike before, I could reach the bra strap and loosened it. Much to my relief, the breast forms fell out, since I half expected them to had remained stuck to my chest. However, my chest looked slightly different, the nipples slightly bigger and more puffy. "Better be a reaction to those stupid things" I said shakily, uneasy at the thought of growing breasts of my own., I hesitated with panties, since I knew they were more comfortable than my own underwear, but I needed to get back to feeling normal. I opened the drawer, and screamed. All my underwear had bows on the front, like those on panties, yet they weren't. If it was like they had partly changed. "Paranoïd?"I said in a shaking voice as I opened my wardrobe and an even worse sight confronted me. The c;osed pair of jeans had changed, one leg had shortened and taken a more pleated look like the skirt I had just discarded. Unsurprisingly, I fainted.
