"I do not have to prove what I know...the challenge is about you, not me. That is your pedestal now."
“You say” that you have heard my story what about your story? Were you so bad at being a mannequin that you were able to be replaced by me a mere human? Why was it that Rachael chose you as the mannequin that I replaced as part of the promotion?” Carly asked thinking that somehow she would be able to prove that Dalia was a better mannequin than she could ever be.
“I arrived in the world of the sisterhood a short time ago as a replacement for the we lost. The soft bodies placed me on what is now your pedestal at that point but only for a little while.”* Dalia told the assembled mannequins.
“Why did they do that sister?” the others asked her.
“I do not know sisters. I was left in the storeroom as I was today for a long time.” She told them.
“How long were you there for?” Carly asked.
“I was there until five orange lights ago I hoped that the soft bodies had decided that they wished me out on display with my sisters at last." Dalia continued.
“Yet you were not with us at the last disappearance of the orange light.” The voice of the group stated.
“No, I was not sister. I did not know why I was once again in the storeroom. That was until I found the former soft body there standing on my pedestal wearing the clothes that I was wearing before the orange light had disappeared last. I can only think that she was my replacement as I replaced the lost one. She was to take my place on display and in the sisterhood. So having spent most of my time here in the storeroom rather than on display I had failed." Dalia feining a sad tone of voice.
“Failed, failed in what?” Carly asked her.
“Failed in our most important task former soft body, to display clothes for the soft bodies. This is a task that you have succeeded in all the time you have been on your pedestal. No soft body that passed you thought that you were anything else than one of the sisterhood.” Dalia told her.
“I was trying to use my skills as an actor to make them think that I was a mannequin. That way more customers would come into the shop and help save her business and save your sisterhood from being broken up.” Carly explained.
Dalia saw her opportunity and seized on it.”You say that you were using your skills in actor, I say that you are wrong you were using your skills in being one of us to fool the soft bodies. You did not need to fool them as you are one of us as you were always meant to be. I say that you no longer have a place in the world of soft bodies. You gave that up on your own and you always wanted to be one of us. What soft body wouldn’t to become one of us who can never change, never grow old.”
“No that is not true I was helping my friend and by extension helping your sisterhood as well,” Carly replied.
“You have both given your replies to the first challenge. Now we will consider them before moving on to the next challenge. The two challengers will not be able to hear our discussions as is customary in disputes." The voice of the rest of the sisterhood announced.
