Carly had just left the local job center. Once again she had been unsuccessful in her attempts to find a job. She had been looking for something for the last few months now with no luck but still, she kept looking. She opened her bag to find her car keys when her phone started to ring. I wonder who that she thought to herself as she took the phone out of her bag.
The screen showed her that it was an unknown number was her calling, she answered the call. For all she knew it could be someone offering her a job.
“Hello, what can I do for you?” Carly asked down the phone line.
“Hi Carly, it's Rachael I got your number from Michaela I wasn’t sure you still had the same number that I had for you.” Came the reply.
“I have had the same number for years Rachael why change something if it isn’t broken? Besides if I changed it I would never remember the new one.” Carly told her.
“Michaela told me about your idea to help the shop. I think it is a great idea.” Rachael enthused from the other end of the phone call.
“Rachael, can you do me a favor can you remind me what my idea was? I was a bit drunk when I came up with it.” Carly admitted.
“Why don’t I do that during lunch, my treat? The shop is not busy again I am sure that Jody can look after things for an hour or so.” Rachael told her.
“You know me so well. I am never one to say no to a free lunch.” Carly said smiling down the phone at her old school friend.
“Great how about the café on George Street say around 12.30. I can remind you about your idea then.” Racheal said.
“Sounds good to me. See you there.” Carly said as she hung up. Try as she might she couldn’t remember what her idea was. “Oh well, that’s what I get for being a genius when drunk.” She said to herself.
She put her phone back in her bag and eventually found her car keys the reason that she had gone into her bag to start with.
