"I guess..." Zoe said, shrugged. "Just...felt like things were...better...this morning. Weird, huh?" When Jon didn't answer, his answer only in his head, she paused. "Are you sure you are all right?" She asked.
"Yes, thank you," Jon said, a bit too quickly. "I guess I'd better get a move on."
Zoe pulled the door closed, leaving Jon back where he'd been. Fine, I'll wear the damn dress. he said, after staring at it for another few seconds.
Dressing seemed almost automatic. As in, if he didn't think much about it, it seemed like a routine he'd done before. Which he assumed now he did.
Focusing on trying to come up with a plan, he barely realized what he was doing until he slung a pocketbook over his shoulder. He opened it up and found a wallet. "Credit cards, driver's license, employee ID, cash..." He riffled through quickly. "Okay...you can handle this," he muttered, trying to psych himself up.
He headed downstairs. "Come on," she said to Mikey, who was waiting. "I'll drive you to school."
He had a driver's license and he knew where the school was. How hard could it be?
