Karyn knelt down next to the tiny fairy version of Sarah.
"Did she just say she's John?" she thought to herself. As impossible as it sounded, she knew about the stone so she knew anything was possible. She couldn't wait to hear his explanation for this. For now, she carefully picked him up, he felt so small and warm in her hands. She carefully put her finger over his chest and could feel a tiny heart beating. Realizing she was almost feeling him up, he was so small that her finger was also resting on his right breast, she quickly pulled away.
Going through he sock drawer, she pulled out her most comfortable socks and made a makeshift bed for him in an opened DVD box.
Suddenly, she felt the whole house shake. Rushing to the window, she saw bolts of blue lightning hitting the house and bouncing off. They came slow at first, but were soon coming down like rain. The noise was almost deafening. Covering her ears, she grabbed the sleeping fairy and crawled under her bed.
It went on for what seemed like hours. Finally, when she was ready to break, John stirred in his "bed" and sat straight up. Without a word, he flew to the window, through the hole he had made, and surrounded by green energy, absorbed all the lightning bolts coming down and shot that up into the sky. The storm stopped at last.
John flew back into Karyn's room and landed on her bed where she was sitting. She laid on her stomach so that she was face to face and asked, "John? Is that you? What happened to you?"
John explained everything to her, embarassed by both his new size and shape. She laid there listening then finally asked,
"But how did you do that green light thing?"
He paused, then said, "Being a fairy has its advantages. Apparently the stone has limits. It can't affect magical creatures" he shuddered at referring to himself as a "magical creature" but figured he'd better get used to it. With his new fairy form he also had knowledge of all things magical and he knew that no magic affected him now. "We have a natural immunity to it and are able to extend our immunity to protect humans we care about"
Karyn blushed when John said he cared about her. Although it could have also been at him referring to her as a human, meaning he was something else.
"So, we're safe here then, right? Karyn asked.
John thought a moment, then replied, "Not 100%. Although I can deflect any magic attacks, Sarah can wish for more conventional means, like knives, stabbing weapons" John paused until Karyn got the joke.
They both burst out laughing, both from the out of place Terminator 2 reference and the absurdity of their situation.
When they settled down, John said, "But seriously, she can wish for much worse to hurt us. She came after me with a vacuum. She almost had me too."
"Well, then what do we do?", Karyn asked.
"We need to get that stone back from her", John said, "And I might just know how"
