After watching him beg for a while, Sarah had had enough and said, "Ok, time to get back in your house" He didn't move, he just sat there, looking at her.
"I said, go!" Sarah shouted as she pushed him with her finger. He fell on his stomach and didn't move.
"I know you're ok, fairies can't be hurt" Sarah said and John stood up and turned to face her. "But they can be contained", she added as she reached down under the table and picked up the jar she had been keeping in case he was defiant, which he was. She removed the lid and swooped it down toward him. John quickly dodged out of the way and ran toward the end of the table. Sarah tried again and narrowly missed as he jumped off the table.
John, not knowing exactly what he was doing, leapt off the table and plummeted to the floor. As the floor got closer he braced for impact only to see the floor stop coming at him mere inches (his scale) from his face. He looked at his legs expecting to see Sarah holding him but she wasn't. He could see his wings were beating so fast they were a blur. He was hovering, the jump forced his fairy instincts to kick in and he now knew how to fly. He righted himself and flew up, floating in front of Sarah's face. Sarah just laughed as she held the stone and said,
"I wish John was in this jar". Nothing happened.
"Remember what you said about magical creatures not being able to use stone? You only had half the story. The stone doesn't work on magical creatures at all." John laughed as he flew up and out of her reach. He perched himself on the door frame and teased her.
"Come and get me!" He shouted. Sarah whispered a wish he couldn't hear and soon a vacuum appeared in her hands. She turned it on and aimed it in his direction and he lost his balance and fell off, getting caught in the suction and pulled in. Just as he was about to get sucked into the hose, he aimed both palms toward it and a bolt of lightning shot out, disabling it. He quickly flew back up to the door frame and surveyed the room for a way out. Luckily, Sarah had left the window in her room open a crack. It would be a tight squeeze, even for him but he knew he could make it. The only problem was Sarah was already heading for it to shut it. She was only inches and he was on the other side of the room. Desperately, he leapt from the door frame and flew as fast as he could. Sarah suddenly appeared to freeze in place. He looked over as he flew past her and saw she was still moving, he was just going super fast. He made it to the window, crawled out the opening and was outside before she even touched it. Once out, he stopped and watched her looking at him with a look of awe. She made another wish and soon she was outside, behind him. He immediately knew he was in danger and flew up as high as he could go. He didn't stop until he couldn't see the ground anymore. Looking down, he saw only clouds. It was amazing being up this high. Not knowing his limits, he decided to land soon in case his flight power just gave out on him. He had no idea what kind of stamina he had.
Down on the ground Sarah was wishing like crazy to get John back. The stone wouldn't grant any wish that would bring him to her, or her to him. Frustrated, she finally made a wish to know how to kill a fairy. The stone wouldn't let her know. Finally, she had an idea. She wished to know what the human John cared most about. The stone glowed and a single word came to her: "Karyn".
At the same time, John felt a sudden sinking feeling in his stomach and an urge to fly to Karyn's house. He flew as fast as he could and was at her window in seconds. Looking in her could see her sitting at her desk, using her computer. He didn't see a way in and was going to try the attic when he got that feeling again and knew she was in immediate danger. Not knowing what else to do, he aimed his palms at the window and concentrated. No lightning came out this time, instead a large boulder (just a rock to normal sized humans) camd out and smashed the window. Karyn looked in his direction in time to see John come in through the window. Of course, John was no a fairy version of Sarah, Karyn's worst enemy so she did the only thing that came natural to her, she threw a book at him. Not expecting that, he was unable to dodge it and it hit him dead on and he fell to her bed, disoriented. Before he passed out he said to her, "It's me Karyn, John" as he raised his hands and activated a sheild around the house that would keep Karyn in and any wishes Sarah could make out.
