Ruby Grant jumped up in her chair. She'd fallen asleep. Fortunately, the cameras had been running. She'd stayed here all night in the makeshift lab they'd made in the school basement. They had the woman, Lydia Warren in one room, and her dog, Buster, in the other one. Although to be fair, that wasn't entirely accurate anymore.

It was still early, hopefully the two were still asleep.

She brought up Lydia's room first, and saw the woman curled up on the floor. Or was it former woman...being as if anyone not in the know had come in, they could have easily mixed up which camera had the dog. From what she could see, which wasn't perfect from the camera angle, the entire area around her mouth and nose had stretched out to form a muzzle. Her blonde hair seemed to extend her entire length with a set of canine ears protruding from halfway up her head. And a hairless tail was visible peaking out from her sleeping form.

She switched over to the other feed. Buster was lying in a cot in the same clothes he'd been wearing when they brought him in, but looking distinctly more human in them. Aside from the rapidly thinning hair, she could see toned legs and arms and a much smaller muzzle.

She tried to rewind the footage, but she couldn't see the changes actually happening. They just...suddenly were visible.

"Remarkable," she commented.

By the time Rebecca Fine arrived a few hours later, rather quickly after a text from Ruby, Buster was knocking on the door.

"The dog woke up about twenty minutes ago...I waited for you to speak to her. The mind is supposed to be more of your area," she commented. And to be honest, despite her manner, Ruby preferred the other woman to her male colleague in some ways.

"Well, none of us are prepared for this. When you say the dog...the original or new one?"

"Buster...although I doubt anyone will be able to tell for much longer."

"Well, let's talk to him."

She nodded. Rebecca went and opened the door. "Buster," she said, smiling.

"I have been knocking for ages...What is going on?" The former dog was increasingly looking like a hairy human...with a definite feminine shape.

Rebecca raised a brow. "You seem to be communicating a bit better this morning. Do you remember who I am?"

"Rebecca Fine..."

"And your name?"

"Busta Warren."

"Absolutely unbelievable," Ruby mumbled, watching on the cameras.

"Apologies for keeping you waiting...we had someone here monitoring you, but they fell asleep."

Ruby made a face. Rebecca didn't know that. The woman was definitely an expert liar. Made her wonder how much she had said was true and what wasn't.

"Well, okay then. I'd like to go home."

"Well, I would like to ask you a few questions first..." Rebecca said. "Do you remember who you came here with?"

"You mean the two men?" Buster asked.

"No...we brought two of you in...do you remember?"

"Oh...you mean Lyddy..." Buster said.

"Yes...Can you tell me about her?"

"Well, she lives with me and I take care of her..." Buster said.

"Have you always taken care of her?"

"Yes...and she's always returned the favor...I mean, she's a good boy."

"Well, I just need to have a word with her, and then we should have enough information for now."
