The next morning, Jon awoke and reached for the wishing stone, not knowing that this was not the wishing stone that his grandfather sent him, but the Teleportation Stone.
Jon decided that since he had a wishing stone, he might as well use it to shorten a tedious morning routine. "I wish I was cleaned up, dressed, and ready for school." he said while holding the stone.
Suddenly, Jon found himself cleaned up, dressed, and ready for school. However, he was no longer in his room, or even in his house. He was now elsewhere.
"What?" Jon said. "I didn't ask for THIS!"
Jon then noticed that the stone was missing. In a panic, he looked on the ground searching for the stone, thinking he must have dropped it, but found no trace of it.
After a minute or two of frantic searching, he could only conclude the stone had not teleported with him to where he now was. And if the stone was left behind in his room, that meant that anyone else who peeked in and saw the stone could find it and use it. His Goth sister Zoe, his younger brother Mikey, or maybe his mother while checking on him, for example.
Jon looked around, getting his bearings, and soon realized just where he was.
