Tina turned to look at her watch. “Jon is almost 4 already we don’t have time to deal with her we need to get going.” She told Jon.

“What is so …?” Sarah stopped in mid-sentence causing both Tina and Jon to turn and look at each other.

“Sarah?” Jon asked her as he waved his hand in front of her face and got no reaction.

“That’s what I was trying to tell you. It’s 4 am now so she is like the rest of the town unable to hear us or move.”Tina answered Jon’s unasked question as she met her face friend's gaze.

Jon wasn’t sure what to think. He knew that Sarah wasn’t his sister but she had been living in his family home for a while now being treated like a member of his family by the rest of them. So some of it must have rubbed off on him.

“We had better get going,” Tina said to him.

“Yeah, I will figure something out about Sarah later. Thanks to that app of yours I know exactly where to go.” Jon Told her still a little unsure if should leave Sarah like this or move her back to her bedroom. No, they didn’t have time.

“You do?” Tina asked him.

“Yeah, the Meshida house.” He answered.

“Why there?” She asked

“It’s all because of Julie DeVries,” Jon told her as they headed out of the door.

“That witch,” Tina said to him as they closed the door.

“When Julie wasn’t Julie she was okay. I didn’t know her all that well.” Jon told his friend as they turned the corner onto the street where the Meshida house could be found.

The Meshidas didn’t live that far from Jon only a few streets away but as he thought there might be there was a black van parked outside of it.

“What do you think a delivery or a takeaway?” Tina asked him.

“I don’t know but we will take a look inside took find out.” He answered.

“Are you crazy? What if the blue men see us? Tina asked her questions so fast that they almost made Jon recoil from them.

“Don’t worry about the blue men they will ignore you. We are here to try and find out who is controlling them that way we can stop all of this.” He told her.

“If you are sure.” She replied a little unsure.

“I am. You check downstairs and I will check upstairs.” Jon said trying to sound as if he knew what he was doing. He could only go on his past encounters with the blue men and each time they were more focused on their ensigned task than anything else. He hoped it would be the same this time.

The two of them entered the Meshida home and Jon ran upstairs as fast as he could neither of them knew how much time they had to find anything.

It would help if I knew what I was looking for. Tina thought to herself.

“Ms Black a pleasure to see you.” Came a voice from one of the blue men. Tina realized at once that the voice did not belong to the man in front of her, well it was a woman’s voice and the person in front of her was a man.

Tina was not sure what to do. Her instinct was to scream for Jon he would help her, he was her friend after all.

“Oh, I wouldn’t shout for Mr Madison. I mean why would he help you after all he isn’t even your friend.” The voice continued.

“Yes, he is,” Tina said as she found herself following the source of the voice into the kitchen as she had been asked.

“You have been wondering if he was truly your friend if he was would he have gotten you involved in something like this?” The voice asked.

“He is protecting me. He is making sure that you can’t swap me with someone else.” Tina answered defiantly

“Well if he could do that for you what about the rest of your family?” This woman’s voice asked the teenager.

“Of course he could but..” Tina started to answer the woman but she was cut off.

“So if he could why didn’t he? Why didn’t he tell you that Bethany Black is not your real mother?” The voice continued planting ever so slowly the seeds of doubt in Tinas’ mind. Well, not so much planting them as watering them. The seeds themselves had been planted before Tina had taken her new place in life.

Tina thought that this woman had to be lying to her she just had to be.

“If you are willing to help us, Ms Black.” The Voice said as if she was a gardener tending to a prise-wining rose.

“If I was and I am not saying I would what would you do for me?” Tina asked unknowingly responding to subliminal programming that she had been given days ago.

“ I can arrange for your mother to be returned to you for one thing. All I ask is for you to do is to keep me informed as to what your friend is doing if it is going to cause me any problems. That is all Ms Black. As a sign of good faith, I will give you your real mother’s name if you wish.” The voice told her.

“You can do that?” Tina asked

“Of course I can Ms Black. It's Athena, Athena Black.”
