Jon's alarm went off and he quickly threw on some clothes and started out of his room, stopping briefly in the bathroom before heading out. He gently opened the front door and started to exit. "Where are you going?" A voice said. He jumped and spun around. Sarah was standing there. With each day, she seemed more and more like his fourteen year old sister. "Nowhere," he said. "Trust me...go back to bed."
"Trust you?" Sarah said. "Come on, Jon...this is like epic. Jon Madison is secretly sneaking out...I wonder what Mom is going to think about that when she gets back."
Jon sighed. "Sarah...seriously...this is important."
She paused. "Fine...if it is so important, prove it. Show me where you are going."
He sighed. She'd just fall asleep at some point. "I really don't think that's a good idea."
"What isn't a good idea?" Tina said, walking through the open door. "Oh...What's she doing up?"
Sarah looked at them. "Is this some kind of romantic thing?" She asked.
"What? No...Jon is like...well, like my brother...it would be like you having a romantic thing with him," Tina said.
"What? Yuck..." Sarah said. "I mean...even if we weren't related...just yuck."
"We have to go...we need to be in position by four o'clock," Jon said.
"What happens at 4?"
"The whole town falls asleep," Tina said. "Then weird shit happens."
"It's 4AM, the whole town is already asleep."
"Everyone who isn't falls asleep...people in cars, police..." Tina said. "And everything freezes...and when it stops, it's still 4AM."
"You're crazy," Sarah said.
Jon shook his head. "I know it sounds crazy, but...we stay awake. You are going to, if you are up, just fall asleep. So...there's no point in you coming with us."
Sarah looked at him. "That's the stupidest story I've ever heard," she said. "I'm still coming."
"What?" Jon asked. "Why?"
"Because you are the worst liar in the world, so either something is going on...and I'm going to prove it. Or...you're crazy and I'm telling Mom you need to be locked in a padded room." She said.
He and Tina exchanged looks and nodded. They had to go, it wasn't worth fighting over.
