Gender roles between males and females are reversed, with males wearing female clothing, tailored to fit their bodies, and females wearing male clothing, tailored to fit their bodies, and with males being the "weaker" sex, and females being the "dominant" sex, even though their bodies are no different.
Karyn read it a second time, to make sure she read it correctly. Then she looked down at her T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Underneath, she knew she was wearing just socks and underwear briefs. She looked at Jon, seeing that he was wearing the same thing he was before - a lavender bare-midriff top that was tight to his flat chest, white pleated miniskirt, and heels. His hair was long, past his shoulders, he had make-up on, and earrings in his ears. Everything was exactly the way it was supposed to be. But if what was written with the magic pencil was true ... this was just so freakin' weird. The world had always been like this. She couldn't think of a time when it wasn't.
"It can't be true. It just doesn't make any sense. Women are the dominant sex. We've always been," Karyn said.
Jon stood up on his 3-inch heels, wobbling a little, not used to wearing them (though they were comfortable enough, being sized to fit his male feet). Despite being the "weaker sex" now, Jon stood a few inches taller than Karyn, even without the heels. "You don't think it's weird that guys have to wear bras, but women don't?"
Karyn looked confused. "What do you mean? Why would women need bras?"
"For their breasts, obviously," Jon said.
Karyn thought about that for a moment. Logically, it did make sense, Karyn realized. But bras were so frilly and manly. Despite the fact that some support for her large breasts would sound nice, she could never live down the humiliation of wearing men's underwear, if anyone found out. Plus, all bras barely had enough room to even contain breasts. She supposed that she could get them custom-made, but ...
Hold on, what was she thinking? Was she actually considering crossdressing? She shook her head. Jon really made her think about a lot of weird things.
"I wonder how much things are different here," Jon said, walking over to his laptop computer resting on his desk, intending on using it to surf the internet, to see how things had changed.
While he was busy doing that, Karyn eyed the wishing stone, sitting next to the magic pencil. She could use one of them, but for what? For one thing, she didn't want Jon to change things back to normal. This was the life she knew and trusted. She couldn't even imagine a world where men were the dominant sex and women were the weaker sex, with women wearing bras and dresses and such. It was just too bizarre. No, she had to make sure that Jon never made the world like that.
So with that, she reached towards the stone (or the pencil) and ...
