For a second, I was a little unsure of what I was going to write, but I quickly decided. I wrote out a fairly simple statement, then looked up.
It was amazing how much everything around me had changed, but the expectant look on Karyn's face told me that she didn't notice. But when I put the pencil down she realized I was done, and something had changed without her noticing.
"Well Jon, what did you do?"
"You really can't tell?"
"No. Everything looks exactly the same as it did before."
"Well, not quite." After I said that, she started walking around, looking at everything in my room to see what I had changed. I found it humorous that she was looking at all of the little details, the location of lights, how I placed my bed, when the real change had been in the big picture.
"Okay, I give up. What did you do?"
"Here," I said, handing her he paper. "Go ahead and read it out loud."
She took it, and her eyes widened in surprise as she read.
