The two made there way through the brisk air towards the main entrance, and found Montanna just inside. The girl was delighted to find them both and she threw her arms up before hugging Maire fully, and giving Karen an equally kind but perhaps more modest embrace.
"I was worried you two wouldn't show up." She laughs as she elbows Jon.
"Oh, Trust me!" Karen joins the dog pile. "There's no way I would let J- Marie avoid this." She chuckled nervously at her slip up, but Montanna didn't seem to notice. She continued. "Marie and I made a little agreement, and she didn't think she'd have to follow through."
"Ohhh~" Montanna smirks. "Well I'm glad that someone finally got her to come to and take care herself." She turns her attention to Jon. "You're super cute Marie, all you need is just a little care~"
Jon shrunk deeper into her sweater at the teasing and banter. Apparently, in spite of Montanna not knowing Karen very well in this reality, they were really hitting it off... Maybe it was just their mutual love of tormenting her. She laughed to herself. Obviously that wasn't the case. By Montanna's perspective, she was just glad to see a friend come out of her shell, and by Karen's perspective she just meant it in good fun. There was no malice here, yet she still squirmed as the trio walked.
"You're strangely quiet today!" Montanna stated bluntly to Jon. "What's up girl? First you skip out on the sleep over, and now this?"
"Oh! I uhh..." Jon shuffles her feet. "I guesh I'm jusht a bit nervoush about going to a Shalon. I've never really been before."
She holds up her finger. "Oh no! Don't give me that. You've been before. I remember how much trouble Ms. Gibson and I went through to get you to go before our tumble meet." She tuts at her friend. "You're so cute! You had nothing to worry about then, and nothing to worry about now." She looks up. "And, here we are!"
The three stopped in front of a very large glass facade in the mall. It had soft pastel covered lights splashing their color across very contemporary and sleek looking partisans. black pots held elegant green plants at the entrance, and on the inside it was clear the large space had been ergonomically partitioned into multiple smaller spa centers. The three walked up to the counter and the waifish girl opposite the register smiled. "Montanna, Marie, and Karen? Our 10:00 AM?"
"That's us!" Karen declared with a certain jubilation.
"Ok, I have three for the full body treatment, mani-pedi and hair styling?"
Montanna shot a look to Karen. "What? How did you get Marie to do the full treatment?"
The goth girl shot her friend a sideways smile. "I have my ways."
Jon and Karen shared a mutual flashback for a brief moment. "You think this will be weird for you?! I'm going to have a dick... while getting a bikini wax! And need I remind you that I can't do any feminine hygiene unless you do it too! Sarah's wish saw to that." The flashback ended and Karen's smirk just deepened.
The lady behind the counter beamed. "How wonderful! A day at the Salon, I bet you girls were looking foreword to it all week~" Her voice practically carried implied emoji's with it.
Montanna laughs. "Two of us were anyway."
The lady behind the counter smiles to Jon. "Uh!" She huffs in indignation. "Girl, we are going to have fun today! You're all going to look amazing at the end of this." It was clear by the attendants meticulously primed appearance that she couldn't imagine NOT having fun at a salon, and Jon just smiled in response. "Alright girls, if you'll just follow me on back, we'll get you all taken care of!"
"Alright, so who's first for the bikini wax? We'll get that taken care of one by one while we take care of your cuts, then you can all get the mani-pedi together!"
"I want to go lasht" Jon laughed softly.
Karen put her hands on her hips. "Actually I think you should go first." She spoke gently, but her raised brow carried the weight of implication, and Jon realized that she was right. Thanks to Sarah's wish she probably would have to go first, or at least before Karen.
Jon held up her hands in surrender and nodded her head. "Ok, Ok... I guessh I'll get thish over with." She sighed, but even in the midst of it, she still wore a smile on her face. Sure it'd be awkward, but she was probably just over-hyping it. This wasn't going to be torturous...
