Jon woke with drool dripping down her face. It had a knack for slipping out along the metal bow whether she closed her mouth or not, and night time was no different. She rubbed her eyes in creaky annoyance as the light slipped through the edges of her curtains. She pulled the covers a little higher and tried to escape back into sleep, but had no luck. She was used to sleeping on her side, or even her belly, but the facebow prevented that. She slept on her back or not at all.
She caught herself opening and closing her jaw a few times. Everything felt lose, and after only a week it felt like her teeth weren't lining up quite the same as before. Maybe that was a good thing, but in the moment it just made it hard to close her jaw. She wiped at her face then winced as her hand bumped up against the outer bow, sending an uncomfortable tension through her mouth.
"Nnngh.." She muttered as she finally urged her body into an upright position. She pawed delicately at her mouth, and the intrusions slipping past and into her lips. True to Sarah's wish, it was just as uncomfortable today as it had been the first day, but she was learning to work around it... At least that's what she told herself.
She wrapped a towel around herself and stumbled to the shower. It was thankfully empty, and as soon as the door was closed the towel fell and the facebow came off. She caught her own eye in the mirror, and immediately covered over her body with crossed arms. Even after a week she hadn't taken the time to actually examine her new body. Every shower was in and out, every time she changed took only seconds, and putting on a bra and boy shorts... well... She had just blocked that memory out entirely. But today would force her to come to terms with her new body. She had kidded lightly with Karen the previous night, but going to a spa really was a daunting thought.
Karen... A flash of the kiss went through her mind but she shook it from her thoughts.
When she showered this time, she actually took her time and took stock of her body. Her hair actually wasn't that bad. It was dry, thick, and frizzled, adding to her frumpy appearance, but with a bit of conditioner and dandruff care it was actually quite pretty. Not that Jon wanted to be pretty, but she could recognize it when she saw it. Her hair, previously black, took on an umber sheen as she washed it. Her face was similarly pretty, just covered in too much acne. Jon actually had been attentive to that one, and by the end of the week her skin was still red with rash, but clear of any blemishes.
Her body was another story. The breasts... Jon had to stop herself from that type of thinking. HER breasts were modest, but had a lovely shape to them. They were perky with a proud little nipple. For the first time since her change, she touched them delicately and gasped. They weren't quite pleasurable, at least not like this, but they were fare more sensitive than when she was a boy. Her hips were next. Even standing in the dead middle of the shower stall, they took only the slightest shift to Bump! or Swish! up against the stall or curtain of the shower. They weren't the biggest she'd ever seen but they were definitely huge.
Her body was pudgy and soft, maybe even a little droopy, but she carried it well. It was evenly distributed across her body so her arms were a little pudgy, and her belly was a little pudgy. Her legs were like over plump sausages though. She was about 160 lbs. Jon considered that she could probably serve to lose about 20 of that, maybe more.
When she finally left the shower and got dressed, she was surprised to find her mom setting a platter of breakfast foods on the table.
"Mom? Don't you have work?"
"Of course not sweetie. It's the weekend?"
"But what about that project you were talking about?"
Her mom raised an eye. "If you're talking about reformatting the online banking system, The tech guys are only there on the weekdays, so it wouldn't do me much good to coach through it today."
"Bank?" Jon stammered. His mom worked at an accounting firm doing grunt work.
She laughs. "Yes, bank. You know the one I manage." She puts the back of her palm to Jon's forehead. "Are you feeling ok sweetie?" She holds up a hand. "And Marie! Before I forget, I went ahead and got a credit card for you!" Jon's eyes opened wide. "I know that it's a bit late compared to your friends but I heard about your shopping trip and wanted to to make sure you had some spending money." She smiled big. "I'm so excited for you! My little girls going clothes shopping. You have to get your ears pierced dear. You're 18!"
Jon shook the second half of her moms sentence from her head and voiced her most pressing concern. "I thought that we didn't use credit cards, they were too easy to go in debt with..."
Jon's mom nodded. "Don't worry, it has a five hundred dollar limit on it. I'll take care of 300 a month, and we can just call that your allowance."
Jon stood there, mouth agape. She had been encountering a lot of shocks this past week. This one was the best one. They had money. She wasn't sure quite how much, but if she was getting a a 300 dollar allowance it wasn't a small amount. Jon scrunched up her face. The money wasn't really the best of it though. Seeing her mom not stressing over bills. Seeing her mom relaxing in a robe on the weekend. Hearing her mom glad to share. There was a blessing in that, and a tension inside her gut she didn't know was there began to unravel.
She ate her food while her mom coached her on the types of clothes to get. Apparently she should embellish around the neck, Get "A-line" dresses, whatever that meant, and dress in layers up top. Apparently that's how to dress up a pear shaped body. Her mom had never been so involved in fashion before, but apparently this reality had afforded her the time to do so.
Their conversation was interrupted with a knock on the door. Jon scurried over to answer it and found Karen dressed in black on the other side. She had a black wool coat around her shoulders as well as lacy stockings and what looked like a partial fishnet shirt beneath the coat. Down below her feet were calf high black boots, and up above her hair was done up in a simple chignon.
"Wow!" Jon said with a smile. Karen had never dressed up so much outside of formal occasions, and even, or perhaps because of, her goth style she was stunning.
Karen glanced behind Jon, checking for if her mom was in sight, then kissed her on the tip of the facebow and winked.
Jon blushed and ushered her in out of the cold.
They exchanged pleasantries and Karen finally said. "Are you ready to become a new brand new Marie?"
Jon could only shake her head in mock distress as her mom waved good bye and shouted. "Take good care of my girl Karen. I expect a fashion show when you three get back!" She shouted again as the door closed. "And you better wear that facebow if you go to the movies. Nobody can see you in the dark."
Jon just rolled her eyes, grabbed her purse, and disappeared out of the door.
