Karen and Jon stand at the corner of the same block as yesterday, though this time they're less silent. Karen is coaching Jon on some of the subtle changes she noticed throughout the day, and after encouraging Jon to check her own schedule, she realizes she's taking a computers class rather than her usual study hall, and has had her schedule adjusted to send her to girls gym period. Unfortunately, they're not sharing the same period for that...
Karen also is telling her of how much better this morning was compared to the first. "I mean, they're basically just how they were before... " She shudders. "It seems so odd to me that my parents could have been so ... cold. I guess I don't know what they've been through in this reality, but I'm their daughter! The way they treated me on the first day was completely unacceptable." She pouts as Jon nods in agreement.
"Yeah, I'll have to agree there. I'll admit, me and Zhoe being closher wash really fortunate, and my mom hashn't really changed at all. I don't know what I'd have done if they turned on me... I'm glad we got that fixhed."
She nudges Karen as Sarah approaches.
"Good morning girls~" The cheerleader begins. "Well, good morning girl." She says with a sneer as she looks Karen up and down.
Karen bristles. "You know Sarah... I tried to look at this from your perspective. I tried to understand... I just couldn't get my head that far up my ass."
"Now now... No need to be like that. You know how to fix all of this. Trust me, I dislike this just as much as you. You just need to learn when it's time to throw in the towel. You've already been beaten. You either live the rest of your lives as freaks, or you give me the stone and I change things back to how they were. Easy! Right?"
Jon clenches her teeth. "Yeah right Sharah. Even if we ..."
"OH, My, God!" Sarah burst out into a faux laugh. "Sharah? Sharah! Is that a lisp? This is even better than I expected." She continues to laugh as Jon tries to talk over her. Jon's blushing, but she won't back down.
"W-we know you'll just ushe it to hurt people! Jusht like you did for ush... I'd rather live like thish than give it to a demon like you!"
Sarah preens. "Demon? Try, succubus. I'm too sexy for an cheap insult like that. Now cut to it. You want something or you wouldn't be here. I don't have all day." She begins to inspect her nails.
"You know why we're here. You granted a wish last night." Karen pries.
"Did I? I don't recall."
"And we want you to undo it."
She sighs impatiently. "Even if I granted a wish last night, and even if we could undo it, why would I do that?"
"Homecoming." Jon piped in. "Ish only two weeksh away, and you're going to loshe."
"So? I'm already Prom Queen. You'll have to do better than that."
Jon flusters "What could we possible give you? It'sh whatever you want! Jusht tell ush and we'll wish it. If you don't want to be homecoming queen, then get perfect gradesh, or get a shcholarship, or anything!"
Sarah looks into the distance, a bored expression on her face, but inside she's reveling at watching them squirm. Time to try out a theory she formed the previous night.
"Oh, fine. I'll take pity on you. Give me a sheet of paper."
Jon rummages through her messenger bag and produces a notebook, Sarah seems to notice something and smirks. "Nice nails bruin babe. They really show off your school spirit."
Jon blushes as she responds. "My mom, apparently, helped me with them, and she didn't want me to... Agh, I don't have to explain anything to you."
Sarah laughs. "No really, they're nice. You could use all the help you can get... Come to think of it... Here we go..." She finishes writing and checks the reverse end of the page for hidden wishes and passes it back to Jon. "That's what I want!"
Jon and Karen read it together.
"I wish I would be selected as Homecoming Queen."
"I wish Agatha would never get used to her braces, and always has to wear garish colors on it."
"I wish Karen couldn't perform any cosmetics or feminine hygiene unless Agatha does the same thing."
"I wish Karen's breasts were just forms that she put in, and that the blond hair was just a wig!"
The pair read over the list quietly, glancing back and forth between one another. Silently they both acknowledged that the last wish was probably a benefit in the long run, but they didn't want to betray that secret to Sarah.
Finally Jon speaks up. "Why? Why do you want to make our livesh sho misherable?"
"Duh, this isn't supposed to be easy for you. If you want it to stop, then you give me the stone. I'll let you dig your holes all day if that's what you want."
Jon and Karen quietly deliberate between one another. Do they even want to go through with it? Ultimately they conclude that it may be worth it for their wishes, if Sarah approves that is.
"Fine!" Jon begins, "but if you get 4 wishesh sho do we!" Sarah waves her hand flippantly at them. "Whatever. As long as you don't try any trickery."
Karen fumes. "You were the one who did that to begin with!"
Slowly the pair begin to craft a series of wishes to negate Sarah's own and still improve their lives.
Jon had written...
"I wish that I used to be the jr High mascot, but don't do it anymore."
"I wish that I had already been wearing braces long enough to get them off today."
While Karens wishes were...
"I wish that I would quickly grow hair and breasts just as attractive as what I used to have as a girl."
"I wish that all of my cosmetics, and feminine hygiene would be magically taken care of for me."
The pair of them nodded contently, then passed the list to Sarah.
"Took you long enough... Now to be sure you're not doing anything tricky I want you to wish that each of these wishes we all see on the front of the page are fulfilled one by one... Just like that!"
Jon rolls her eyes at the cheerleaders insistence. "Fine, but jusht sho you know, we're not underhanded bitshes like you." Sarah just laughs.
Jon produces the stone, and repeats after Sarah. "I wish that each of the wishesh we all shee on the front of the page would be fulfilled one by one!" Confidently the cheerleader stated. "Approved." Her face remained flat for a few moments as the flash washed over them, but as the seconds ticked by, Sarah's smile grew deeper and more sinister. Suddenly she breaks the silence.
"Well, thanks for the laughs losers. Enjoy whatever it is you do. I have a homecoming nomination to win." She waved as she waltzed off down the street muttering something under her breath...
