After the military left the settlement, it was time for us to go. We had been there for the week to ensure that they did not do a last second backstab. Now it was our turn to leave. Void Clan knew that we would protect them if the worst was to happen, but they still did not like us. Brett and the AEP units would drive back in the van. It made no sense for me to walk behind them when Dawg could simply teleport me. Kyan gave Dawg the coordinates and I made sure to grab the X-frame I had claimed. The 2 of us were home in a second. Since were there, I made sure that an apartment was ready for him. I had to tell him about 12-001. He was our prisoner even though he was from the Conqueror faction. Dawg was confused. "Huh?? Do you want me to kill him for you!?" he asked. I shook my head. "No! I want you to leave him alone. I'll tell him to leave you alone." He really did not seem to get it. That was fine. It was time for me to gather everyone else and explain the circumstances. 12-001 was also angered. I was not surprised by this reaction at all. Advocates and Conquerors did not mix at all.

I glared at him. "I already told him not to mess with you. He also was told that you would not mess with him." He shrugged and said "Then maybe I should go and get the jump on him then." I rolled my eyes. "Brett is on his way back home. I think you'll be busy with him getting the jump on you." I said. 12-001 hissed but flinched back. He knew that he had no power to stop Brett having his way with him. The AEP units were supposed to be the closest things to perfect beings on the continent, yet here he was. He got up and left the meeting. As long as he did not attack Dawg or mess with our stuff in the clan building, I did not care where he went. Brett and the other AEPs came back in the van. It was then time to give the whole clan their debrief of the mission. We had to tell them about Chase's death. They were not happy to hear that. In my opinion we should have a funeral for him. I was outvoted. It seemed that they did not like the fact that we had to pretend they were humans during the first funeral. I shrugged. They all had their pride as AEP units. That was fine in my books. No funeral.

Funeral or not, I was not going to let Chase's death go unappreciated. I made it mandatory for them to sit in the clan building and recall their fondest memories of Chase for everyone. I even got Dawg and 13-001 to join in. The guests were on separate ends of the room. Chase was a great clanmate, so it was easy for all of them to say something positive. Even the guests were able to say something nice. The next day, we were visited by members of our ally, Clan Edge. Ramon and Mateo were joined by Wayne and Peter. They had taken our advice. They had 2 labs and a nice neighborhood. Walking the perimeter and shopping for groceries for the house each week were great missions. It had been 4 weeks, so that meant 16 missions. That put Peter at 22 missions completed. Wayne had finished 23. They wanted to try making their memory chips. Dawg happened to be in the area as we were discussing it. He offered to try. I informed him that he would not be able to keep any of the chips if they were made. "They are Clan Edge's property." I told him. He pouted but agreed with it.
