When Karyn met with Jane the next day, the first thing she (or was that he) did was slap her. "Jane, what the hell is wrong with you! Why would you wish for this you stupid whore, are you crazy?" she whispered harshly, in a deeper, male voice. Jane was on the verge of tears from hearing her own best friend talking to her like this, especially after the events of last night.
"Karyn, I-I'm sorry, it's not my fault," she stammered.
"How is it not your fault? You had the stone, so you must have wished for this! And why would you wish I notice the change? You could have just turned me into a boy and been done with it, now I'm a freak with a- I can't even say it!"
"But Karyn, it wasn't me, someone else wished for it," Jane said, starting to cry. "She took the stone from me, and made a whole bunch of wishes with it, including one that keeps me from telling you who it is," she sobbed.
"You really expect me to believe that story? Don't try to lie to me Jane, I'm warning you " Karyn growled. The new cheerleader had to think about what to do next. Sarah had the stone, and as long as that was the case, nobody was safe, but Jane couldn't tell Karyn that because of the wish. Maybe there would be another way to communicate
