"Attention students," the voice said again over the loudspeaker. "As we have no explanation for the current situation, but there are no serious injuries, there seems to be no reason to not resume normal classes. Please report any symptoms to your teachers, or the school nurse."
"They don't know what's going on," Zoe said to Sarah. "They are just going to pretend it didn't happen."
"Maybe that's a good idea..." Sarah said. "I mean, we don't want to miss classes."
"Would you stop worrying about your GPA?" Zoe said.
"Okay, class," the apparent teacher at the front of the room said, "You heard the announcement. Everything is back to normal..."
The boy next to Zoe rolled his eyes, mumbling something.
The rest of history class was fairly typical. It really felt like things were going back to normal for everyone. Because no matter how confused everyone was, class felt like a constant.
The bell rang and everyone started to file out. Zoe paused, a bit reluctantly, remembering what had happened the last time everyone had been in the halls, but she and Sarah eventually filed out toward their next classes. They passed by three teens wearing team jackets, one of them was high fiving the others. "Neanderthals," Zoe mumbled. Things are definitely back to normal around here, she decided.
