Both his third and fourth missions were assassinations. Troublesome individuals needed to be taken out in order for the transmission hub and the cyborgs of their region to live in peace. The first assassination was a politician in a local race that had vowed to crack down on the PEPs on the streets. Since the politician was a populist, he was keen on walking the streets to talk to people directly. Wayne blasted the man away with a sawed off shotgun. It was easy to conceal and he used his superior speed and stamina to run away. The second assassination was the daughter of a local business chain. In the course of trying to find ways to purchase the safehouse, she had found out the secret. He had to snipe her as she was getting out of a car on her driveway. Talking to me about his missions erased all of his nervousness. That was great to see. After I heard this, an optional quest appeared. If I wanted to, I could trace those steps and learn more about the region by investigating his exploits. That did not feel necessary to me now. I did not care about this region of the map all that much.

He got up and left the room shortly after. Wayne seemed to be a nice guy, all things considered. I spent the rest of the night on my own. The next day, all the members of the lemonade stand came over to the house. We needed to go for a bit as they did their thing. By the end of the day, there was a hole in the ground in the backyard. We would refer to it as a cellar. There was a 2 door hatch that covered a wide stairwell that went down into the clan building. There were spots for X-frames to be displayed. I already knew this, but it was the first time for everyone else. Wayne and Peter were down with the transmission hub, so they were not impressed either. It was now up to the clan engineer, Joseph, to determine what the clan would look like and start assigning the construction for buildings. Each stage would take 3 days. The hallways also made it take longer as those took 3 days to build as well. Joseph was practical and started with their generator bay. Then he went on to the PEP lab and PEA lab. That would take several days. It made sense to me. Joseph looked really pleased now.

Oswin joined us in the early morning. After his shift cleaning at the local bank, he went to the apartment he and Joseph shared to take some of their personal affects and transfer it over. Both of them were now fully moved in. All of the others still needed to bring their things if they wanted the house to be their residence. Ramon and Mateo had family in the city and lived with them. They would not be using the house aside from crashing there every now and again. Fabien had been living in a shitty, small apartment trying to make it big with his job as a code monkey at a fairly exploitative company. He was an only child and his mother was dead. His father was a deadbeat dad, so he had no qualms making the permanent move. He was going to have to take some time to go back and get the stuff that he wanted to keep. The rest could get thrown out by the landlord when he did not pay the rent when it was due. The PEA units had nothing except for their clothes and the weapons they had. That was all up to them. I had no right to get in their way. Clan Edge was up and running. Perfect.
