"Keep an eye out. I made a wish that whatever interesting thing happened, you'd notice it with me."

"Why didn't you just wish you knew what it was?"

"Don't you think I tried that? But apparently, it wouldn't be interesting if I knew what it was." Jon said.

"Sorry," Karyn said. "I'll keep an eye out. Haven't seen anything out of the ordinary so far. Let's head inside."

As Jon and Karyn entered the school, they merged into the crowd. Though standing next to each other, and walking toward their classes, they were part of a larger group. Cheerleaders, jocks, nerds, and so on...everyone was going to the same places.

It felt like a sea, sweeping everyone along. However, people clustered within the sea of humanity...the cliques still seemed to be maintained, despite the momentum.

Then, suddenly it happened, an odd high pitched whine passed through everyone's ears...and a domino effect rolled across all the people in the hallway...as if someone at the front of the line had pushed the person behind them, bumping into the next person, and so on. Jon and Karyn suddenly had a feeling like a tidal wave they were being swept up in...because they knew something interesting was going to happen...they were more aware when something did.

Jon suddenly found himself on his rear, on the ground. He felt disoriented, but because it was his wish, he was a lot less so than some of the others around him. He noticed everyone seem dazed, and had fallen to the ground. He got to his feet, feeling a slight bruise where he had fallen, and wincing. At least, from the looks of it, everyone just seemed a bit bruised. He hoped no one had fallen on the stairs or somewhere dangerous.

The other thing he noticed was that the incident had scattered people and their possessions all over. People were struggling to their feet and picking up objects, seemingly at random.
