Now that there was a potential for the deal to go through, we gave 12-001 over to the librarians. He was there, but we made it known that he could not leave. Even more important was the meeting with the enemy clan. We went to the library as that was neutral ground. They had requested to meet at 10pm. We were waiting for them all to arrive. In the meantime, the new labs opened up. The PEA and AEP units now had a place to go. 12-001 was standing with the librarians on the rooftop with us. The AEP lab opened first. It had the standard fabricator, whiteboard and operating table of the other labs. This one was special in the fact that there was a circle of 9 chairs that were hooked up to wires in the ceiling. There was a port in the right armrest that allowed them to plug in. From there, they could get their missions. Next up was the PEA lab. Similar to the AEPs, the PEAs were all able to relax, train and heal up during their down time between missions. As their clan engineer, I was able to research things specifically for them to make them much more effective at the jobs. Tools and weapons.

Eventually, it was time to meet. The town was in total chaos. There were videos taken of the carnage. People all over the continent now knew that the AEP units were no joke. Dwan Town had no police force. Martial law returned to town. We obviously had no say in this. Paul, Brett and I had to fend them off with interview and search after search. It had taken a longer time than I would have thought to set up a meeting. I did not know if that was a good or bad thing yet. They certainly did not like humans. It was to be expected. When they arrived at the agreed upon location, they looked around and walked over to 12-001. They saw that he was okay and then glared at us. I was not intimidated. The head librarian cleared her throat. "I am glad you were all able to make it. As discussed beforehand, we received the conditions of each party in advance for this meeting. For the release of 12-001 back to his clan, a peace treaty and alliance must be formed between the 2 clans." she said. They agreed. 12-001 was allowed to go with the PEP unit. 12-001 swore revenge on us. I rolled my eyes at it.

Revenge actually was swift. Because Magnetic clan ruled the area, all PEP units loyal to the transmission hub had to do as they said. That was all of them except for us and the vassal clan we had made. The mayor also flipped on us. There was an embargo against our clan. No PEP unit in the region was allowed to give us any aid or comfort until Paul, Brett, Hunter and I were gone. It was a pretty toothless order. Our clan was the most advanced and prosperous on the entire continent. There was no outside help needed. We could sustain ourselves. Even getting money was not a problem as we were famous musicians. Money came in every week. As clan engineer, I was doing research to create and mass produce lots of new gadgets and weapons for my clan members to use. Unfortunately, they saw no use as we got no missions. It was the transmission hub that assigned them after all. If we wanted to, we could end all of this. Moving would solve all our problems. Our clan's cover was that of a big music studio. We could just set up a new branch in an area that was run by Advocates.
